While Blizzy might be making some good points, I don't read his posts because he's a Broner fan.

No all time great gets stopped 3 times in their prime. I'm sorry. No all time great refuses to fight his best competition. I understand it was his own brother but no one forced them to be active fighters at the same time.

Those two things knock him down a few pegs but he's certainly top 20 somewhere. He's a very good champ.

Second longest reign as HW champ??? He won the true legitimate and lineal title in 2009. Having the IBF and or WBO titles shouldn't be considered the same as being the true undisputed champion in the way that Joe Louis was.

I'm not a fan of any fighters of today.

Nobody in recent times has reached that status of guys I loved to watch like Roy Jones, Mike Tyson, Gerry Penalosa, Lennox, Vitali, and a few others. Floyd has come close though.

The few guys that I do like tday are Floyd, Wilder, Garcia, Roman Gonzalez, Kovalev, Broner, Froch, Anthony Dirrell, Marquez, and Broner. Everyone else I respect.

Two guys who might make my list soon are Inoue, and Walters.

I like that the forum has him 2-15. I think that's absolutely right.

Wlad is an awkward guy to measure. Got wiped out by Sanders who were decent and Purrity who were awful. But held his own against much better fighters after that. Great statistics, great athlete, great skills and possibly the hardest punching boxer of all times. However, many feel that his jab-and-grab style wouldn't work against A-level opponents, and that he would crumble once a fight would get competitive. But this is merely speculation. Unlike guys like Muhammed Ali and Lennox Lewis, Wlad hasn't fought other greats to be measured against.

Having him anywhere between spot six to fifteen makes sense in my book.

the only two guys wlad beat who were arguably better than sanders and purity who were both borderline contenders when prime (and sanders was shot2shyte retired when he faced wlad, only he gets a free pass from racist klittaaards for being an ATG because of course he is white) are -

    1. haye
    2. sultan
    3. povetkin

povetkin aside, because it should have been a DQ against wlad, haye and sultan makes two decent defences that might have beaten purity and sanders.

I love you "Wladimir should have been DQ'd" guys. It really nails your colour to the mast, that one.

Leading with clinches. Actually reaching out to grab instead of moving and/or throwing shots.

Ive never seen a supposed ATG of the sport perform like that.

Any where else , in any other era and the result would have been ruled a no contest. Hall of Fame ref -Miles Lane would have stopped that fight after 4 rounds.

The fight broke every rule in the book. The problem lies with you if you can't see that.

What did Sultan and Haye go on to do after ? Nothing.

Even when active, Sultan couldn't beat Ray Austin who lost to Harlod Sconiers.
Wilder knocked out Sconiers early in his career when he had the worst HW record in boxing.
Then Sultan goes the distance with the worst version of Briggs that ever stepped in the ring. Chronically suffering from asthma and weighing around 270 Pounds. He threw about 10 punches per round.

Then Wlad fights timid and scared against this nobody and he's a top 5 greatest of all time ? ?:patsch:nut

Either of these days, you should share your honest opinion about Wlad.

my honest opinion is that despite some serious inadequacies in opposition and unavenged losses to such opposition too, some of the worst lows in hw history for major title holders, coupled with illegal tagteaming in order to win back titles that he wouldn't manage alone, wlad Ks longevity and persistence and serious approach lend him enough weight to superceed those shortcomings and elevate him into the top twenty. I would have no problem with others opinions ranking him between 15-25 for that reason, but hes really looking at about 18th or 19th in my eyes.
