Where do you rate Andre Ward all time p4p? And at 168?

I don't give Ward any credit for beating Kovalov. First of all, I know I'm in the minority but I just never saw Kovalov as the monster you guys see. Second, Ward lost the first fight and I don't care what anyone says. Third, he should have been dq'd in the rematch although I think K quit. Lastly, Ward was a very very dirty boxer. So at LHW he's not even on the radar.

At SMW he has very good wins so he could legitimately be ranked pretty high.

Why don't you guys have Greb on your lists? He certainly fought many bouts between 160 and 170.

I don't usually make lists for the inbetween weight classes, but I'll give it a quick bash:
    1. Fitzsimmons
    2. Greb
    3. Langford
    4. Jones Jr
    5. Choynski
    6. Charles
    7. Conn
    8. Moore
    9. Hopkins
    10. Ketchel
    11. Monzon
    12. Hagler
    13. Robinson
    14. Walker
    15. Ward
So, I guess I have him at 15 for now. As you can see, I rate according to my own crazy rules :)

Forget Calzaghe as his resume is clearly superior to any other SMW but below Calzaghe you have fighters like Ottke, Eubank, Collins who I think have greater resumes at SMW than Ward also. Not even complete resumes for Eubank and Ottke below.

Explain how you think Ward has a greater SMW resume than Eubank -

    - Rocchigiani undefeated relinquished IBF champ
    - Benn draw with WBC champ
    - Malinga future 2 time SMW champ
    - Holmes a former SMW champ and world rated
    - Watson
    - Jarvis
    - Essett
    - Close
    - Wharton

    Or Ottke
    - Mitchell WBA SMW champ and 2 time SMW champ
    - Brewer IBF SMW champ
    - Reid former SMW champ and world rated
    - Mundine future 2 time SMW champ
    - Johnson who gave Froch problems 12 years later when faded
    - Markussen
    - Larsen
    - Branco
    - Starie

    Collins
    - Eubank see above
    - Eubank again
    - Benn
    - Benn again
    - Sellier

To give a few examples. Problem is, many will comment and dont know the division and didnt watch it back then and although they dont know or werent old enough to watch, will still foolishly give out their opinions

Was that after the 12th or 13th low blow?

Any sarcasm alert icon's with that statement?

Ward is either #1 or #2 in the history of the 168-pound division. A near lock first ballot hall of fame guy I think.

I wish Ward would have stuck around at light heavy a bit longer, but he was getting older and didn't want to fight anyone young and dangerous. Not my favorite guy in the ring, a bit dirty, but I must out of the ring I like him much to my surprise.

Dude, below the belt is a foul. Part of Ward's gloves is blown the entire belt line. If you ever boxed you should know the cup can slide on you.

Agreed. All I can add is that Bhop stated publicly he would never face Ward. Got a mean something.
Dirrell continued his academy award winning performance of being too hurt neurologically to face Ward? Mayweather called Ward over GGG. Good enough for me to say Ward left his mark. Just not a pleasing style to many.

That's a good point about the grim reaper. I'd forgotten about that point deduction....I know Reid isn't liked but I'd always liked him and was rooting for him to beat Calzhage...never been a Super Joe fan.

He has to be top 15 bare minimum if not top 10 at 175 based on resume, skill, and h2h. Sure some people have resumes that are a bit deeper but ward isnt the only one who had a hard time trying to unify with the annoying ducking adonis stevenson.

At 168 i definitely have him top 10, maybe even top 5. He was utterly dominant, cleared his division, and was the best p4p after mayweather for years. Only the very best like bernard hopkins, james toney, etc could beat him at his best.

He fought what? 4 times at LHW, twice against the same guy winning very controversially. And he's in your top 10 ALL TIME LHW'S?! FOH.

    This.

He beat two unranked LHWs, lost to Kov (but got the W, home-cooking) and used low blows to get a very controversial stoppage in his fourth and final LHW bout.

He doesn't rank at all at LHW.

I have him third behind Calzaghe and Jones at 168.

p4p, somewhere in the top 100.

you'd have to be a clown to rate two LHW fortysomething scalps over two number 1 prime LHW scalps.
how you'd not be able to notice your own bias is beyond me, I guess lying to oneself would have to be something you got used to.
