Where do you rate Andre Ward all time p4p? And at 168?

Wow! While I think the large majority of observers tend to sell Ward a little short, I think you may be leaning a bit in the other direction.

For those who believe Ward deserved HOF status but not ATG status. I'm still very curious regarding the prerequisites that make an ATG for those with that opinion? And who are some ATG's from the last 25 years according to that standard? Just curious what some examples are of guys who are ATG's from the past 20-25 years, and what differentiates them from Ward.

He is an outstanding fighter of this era. You can’t argue with his pedigree and the facts particularly his record.

Number 2 at 168. Regarding pfp, the only guys who I really think were performing at higher level than him in the last 20 years were Roy, Floyd, and Pac--but I think Ward was probably a little better at 168 than Pac was in any one division. Hopkins ended with a close but better resume, but I'm not sure if Hopkins at 160 was ever outperforming Ward at 168.

Some fighters earn their way into the IBHOF due to popularity or achievements in a time in which the competition was in a bit of a slump. But not all members of the Hall of Fame are All Time Greats. Guys like Ingemar Johansson, Barry McGuigan, and Arturo Gatti are all members of the IBHOF that clearly fall short of the designation of ATG. Andre Ward is in that type of company. To his credit, he beat everyone he has fought (at least, so far). But, he did not fight often, almost always fought with a distinct home field advantage, and fought in a less skilled era than many. His fights with Kovalev were both controversial. And, watching Sergey's last fight against Mihalkin, it does not look like he is running on all cylinders anymore. I fully expect fighters like Bivol or Beterbiev will destroy Sergey if he has the guts to fight them.
