I have no interest in making lists, though I enjoy reading yours, but if you are rating fighters by who would win if they fought, anyone you rate above Lewis would have to fight his very best fight to beat him.
But whatever Ali relied on, it got him the heavyweight championship three times and wins over Frazier, Liston and Foreman. So can't complain really.
#4 Lewis Defeated every man he ever faced, going 12-2-1 against Ring-Rated opposition, some of whom were the most dangerous punchers of the era. Completed his career by beating his heir apparent, retiring as the champ.
I think that this is one sided. Almost every HW especially has their opposition trashed, & almost never fights prime ATGs. Still they could lose & deserve some credit as the victories pile up. Lewis fought pretty good opposition overall! It is very dubious speculation that Bowe would beat Lewis. But your bias might be revealed in that you cite nothing Lennox does better, like outside fighting or the right hand. Foremen was actually nearly 49 when he "lost" his last fight though....
If he'd have played it safe and not gone for a ko then he, Bruno, wouldn't have had his first one to Bonecrusher. He wanted to impress the American audience so went all out try and stop Smith.. Well you know the rest. And who knows, but if the Witherspoon fight had being scheduled for 12, I'm sure it was 15, and Frank could have just clung on and lasted another round.. But all water under the bridge now.
