In the process of my own personal top-100 and I would appreciate your help. Lets start with this.

I believe if one did no research on the subject, out of ignorance (and ESPN), would think the greatest boxers ever were (in no particular order)...

    - Muhammad Ali
    - Ray Leonard
    - Mike Tyson
    - Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    - Rocky Marciano
    - Manny Pacquiao
    - Oscar de la Hoya

I know enough that that's not true. So just where do you rate these celebrated figures?

    All the best!

*This is obviously a huge assumption.

Like most normal ratings except the heavyweights get moved up by 20-40 spots.

Except for Holyfield, he can stay

I know might be the wrong thread for it but.

Can't you make case for Patterson being above almost or any other hw on an ATG list?

Even for a lightheavy he wasn't really big, and becoming a heavyweight champion is such an amount of overachieving that should be rewarded.

At first I wondered what the hell you were on about claiming ATG status for Patterson. Then it dawned on me the point you are trying to make regarding his P4P achievement at heavyweight.

Along similar lines to your claim for Patterson, how about Michael Spinks cleaning out light heavyweight and then winning a heavyweight title?

Should also be held at very high regard.
Though he wasn't a hw as long as Patterson, he did beat the great Larry Holmes as an ex lhw.

Patterson beat an old light-heavyweight champion to become heavyweight champion though. He got a bit lucky there with Marciano's retirement maybe.

    Post-Hopkins, I am very flexible.

Mayweather WILL be higher if he 1. Beats two more fighters as good as Bradley 2. Beats Austin Trout who comes off a win against Canelo Alvarez. 3. Mayweather will SKYROCKET if he beats a recovered Pacquiao who retains the strength and alertness from Pac-JMM 4, and is fully confident to trade, having been in wars with the likes of Brandon Rios.

Mike Tyson - somewhere from 80-150

It's just so irrelevant. Not yours alone, everyone's. But it comprises much of what can really be discussed in regards to fighters long gone. Fun too.
