Shortest heavyweight champ in history. Eight consecutive stoppage wins in title defense, shared only by Larry Holmes. 11 title defense s, of course the quality of the guys he faced is a little underwhelming. And a true "World '' champion in that he traveled. I've got him at around 37. Your views on Burns?
Never really considered him in an all time rankings list but you're probably about right, give or take 4 or 5 spots.
He was a good fighter wasn't he, been doing a fair bit of reading up on him last few days. Taking into consideration his size and the division he was in, didn't do bad at all tbh.
He was very good P4P fighter, highly underappreciated. Not great HW, but very good at his own size (especially against bigger men).
He gets pretty overrated with the talk of him as a P4P fighter . I think he had good attributes for fighting up the weights, his resume at MW is forgettable, and at HW his only important ones were O'Brien who was good but a similar size, and Hart who lost to the even smaller Gardner and similar sized Root.

He was a very tough, strong, tricky guy with a terrific chin, big powder for a light heavy and decent speed .. he beat O'Brien who was a terrific light heavyweight .. I'd rate him at light heavyweight and have him as a damn tough one ..
Both he and O Brien were inside the lhvy limit, so he could justifiably have claimed both titles.Heavyweight and Light heavy.
