I made a similar poll for Wladimir some time ago.

    Where do you rate Vitali?

Top 20, unfortunately that injury retired him for several years or he would be higher.

Exactly, if he had a couple of bigger names during those 4 years he was out, he'd be in the Top 10 no doubt

i have him at 11, and Wlad at 5, but then again i don't include the cavemen Johnson, Dempsey, Langford, Sullivan, Jeffries and Fitzsimons in my ratings as i think that their reign resumes are far too weak to justify them anywhere in the top 10 or close to and i think that they fought in a totally different times where the sport wasn't as evolved as it is today.

I think before these polls can be voted in, it needs to be established whether it is for their time, or head to head against hws from other eras. Because that makes a huge difference.

I always rate a fighter H2H, so both Klitschkos are high on my list..

His resume sucks, you guys need to realize this. Two genuine quality opponents, two losses. Event wins never count for any respectable boxing historian.

I can't consider a boxer just because his size alone and the competition is extremelly weak....so no ATG status in my book!!

It´s hard to rate Vitali because of the lack of high profile opposition on his resume. There is no denying however that he is a pretty special fighter. Highest knockout % in the history for a heavyweight champion (knockout-to-fight ratio). Fewest rounds to a championship belt. Two losses to injury, ahead on scorecards on both. Newer been down. Few fighters dominate the opposition the way does, seldom looses a round. I am not saying he would beat anybody but I am pretty sure he would be competitve against most.
