Well done boxrec, another argument won :happy

When Mercer trained well & was in good shape he looked great, when he was lazy & unmotivated he looked awful.

Mercer had brutally knocked out an unbeaten Morrison in his previous fight & against Holmes he looked bad. You mention Ferguson & Wilson but dont mention the fights he had with Lewis & Holyfield, both very good performances.

Speaking of Holyfield old Larry was still good enough to compete with him after completely befuddling Mercer.

Old Larry wasnt a shot & ruined fighter, he was faded but still a decent contender.

Mercer certainly did better against Lennox Lewis than #1atg Vitali.

Holmes was GREAT. Michael Spinks was GREAT.

Vitali lost to average Chris Byrd.

Wlad lost to HORRIBLE Ross Purrity, average Sanders and below average Lamon Brewster.

    So whats your point?

Vitali would have won if not for the injury.

George Foreman lost to Jimmy Young
Lennox Lewis lost to Hasim Rahman and Oliver McCall
Harry Wills lost to Paulino Uzcudun
Max Schmelling lost to Gipsy Daniels and Steve Hamas
Mike Tyson lost to Buster Douglas, Danny Williams and Kevin McBride
Jack Johnson lost to Jess Willard

    So what's YOUR point?

My point was a REPSONSE to the other posters critique comparing Tyson and Vitali. Context is very important in reading. You completely missed it.

As for Vitali, he would have won if not for the injury. So ****ing what?

That is the equal of saying Nunn would have beat toney had he not got knocked out.

    Excuses don't erase losses.

As I've told you several times before, I don't swing that way.

losses don't equal greatness. People who view losses just by the term are typical boxrec ******s.

Yes. Nearly all of the ATGs had losses.

Boxers are human beings, not supermen.

Supermen are not real and only exist in comic books.

  10. All I can say is that Dempsey and Ali and Foreman wouldn't have quit against Chris Byrd.
    "it hurts too much."
Quitali "Dr.PaperSkin" Bitchko and of course...
    Lewis TKO6 Bitchko

  11. Yeah but none of the other ATG's quit against Chris Byrd

Probably around 30ish, just as a hunch. His resume is weak so he doesn't rate that highly in terms of accomplishments, but H2H he is a monster and rates among the best.
