Where do you rate Vitaly's chin in ATG terms?

The guy took a monster uppercut from Lewis. That shot should have removed his head and he did not even go down.

The straight left from Corrie Sanders in the first was lethal as well.

Nothing special. Nothing special for a guy standing at 6'7 1/2" taking punches from men nearly always smaller than him.

He still got dropped by Sanders in the 1st round and that makes him no different than his brother, Alfred Cole, Arthur Weathers, or Alexei Varakin. If he had survived for another round he would have been leveled and finished (on his back) by Lennox.

If you fight lousy comp (and don't ever have to face great athletes on equal size terms) for nearly all of your fights you'll look strong by comparison (as you are larger than your opponents). Calz is credited with having an extraordinary chin but his case is also one of not facing guys who could touch it (when better athletes (and even some others) were in the ring Joe got dropped).

Their chins are way overrated and fictionalized.

vitali's chin is also worse then toney's

  7. His chin all time is probaly in the top 10, Ali's was better, George Chavulo, was better, Tua and Mccall, had arguably better chins also..
The competition Vk faced was just so-so, the best fighter he faced Lewis, opened his head up..

Overated. Mavrovic took many of those Lewis uppercuts and didnt go down, even Grant took several of those uppercuts during their fight without going down.

Vitali has rarely been hit flush but against Lewis and Sanders he was and was hurt.

I think it's a very good chin. But, without more quality opponents to test it, we can't be sure. Lennox got good shots on him which he took well, but I think the tide was turning in their fight. Sanders also seemed to get to him.

Lewis hits as hard as anyone really.

    Vitali took hit shots.

Sure he got cut but that has nothing to do with his chin. If anything it should make him even higher rated that he got cut big time and still took massive shots.

**** off guys!!!!!!! Listen; I can tolerate historical favoritism but I can't tolerate stupidity. **** no was Ali's chin better than Vitali's!!!!!!!! WHAT!?!?!? Are you saying Frasier could have dropped Vitali!?!?!? A man 3 inches taller, heavier than Foreman, bigger overall with better stamina and technique AND ring smarts? When Foreman KTFO out of Frasier? huh?

**** that guys you're talking out your asses here no way is Vit K's chin anything less than top 3. Probably top. You're living in wonderland if you think otherwise. Say what you want but facts are facts Rahman would never have KO'd Vitali neither would McCall nor Frasier. **** that ****.

I would appreciate if people took a look at the fights they are referencing, instead of relying on memory lane when posting. One, Vitali never been KOed, from anybody, in his professional boxing record. Watch round 1, and see the two cement-braking KO punches that Sanders throws, and Vitali eats them. At 8:10, there is a great slo-mo pic that shows the force of the punch that would've sent a truck of the road. Vitali ducks it, eats it, gets back in the business.

Two, stop with the "Lennox would've won anyways" story. If Vitali's skin didn't cut so easy, history of the recent heavyweight division would have been different.

Sander's weighed 235 at that weigh in. Now factor that fat twat pushing you down and you'll see. It wasn't even a clear punch it was a push - take a look there's a world of difference between a punch and a push.

    And this:

    Fact.

Hate on Wlad all you like the guy has a crystal jaw but if you hate on Vitali you're just a hater plain as because there are no facts to backup your argument against vitali's chin. NONE.
