Dropped down, with a wrestling technique. Careful reading of the thread's title will reveal we are talking about the strength, or lack of, Vitali's chin, not his limited wrestling skills. That was not a punch that sent Vitali down.
His chin is top 10, though I did think he went down in the 1st round against Sanders, but it wasn't officially called a knockdown. I would rank Toney, McCall, Tua, Chavulo, Ali, Tyson, all over Vitali's chin. He just hasn't faced enough big punchers to grade him above the fighters I listed.
Yes, but every knockdown he suffered was never really hurt. Both the Peter and Jones knockdowns were all when he was off balance, it was Peter's jab that floored him, which had nothing behind it. Toney took full force blows from Peter that would of took out most heavyweights, 24 rounds with him. As well as both Rahman and Holyfields best as well. Till this day he claims the hardest he was ever hit was against Marqui Sosa. Toney has never been stopped or knocked down, Vitali has been stopped.
Vitali hasn't fought anyone that can prove that. He fought ONE great puncher, who was well past his prime. Ali fought the greatest compilation of punchers EVER...Foreman, Frazier, Shavers, Liston, Lyle, **** even though he was small for heavy Foster was a banger. Vit has not fought any great hitters in his prime so don't say Frazier wouldn't have dropped him. You have nothing to base that off of
Vitali clearly has a very sturdy chin, but there's not enough context to rank his punch resistance all-time. He took big shots against Lewis and Sanders. What else is there to say?
Vitali has been stopped. You act like those two fights measure his chin. Toney has been down, Vitali has not but his chin is better. :rofl I forgot I was talking to the guy who hates the Klitschkos.
