Where do you rate Vitaly's chin in ATG terms?

I'm a fan of both Klitschkos but people are going WAY too far with this nonsense. His chin is excellent, no doubt but I don't see people starting endless threads about Holyfield's chin and he went 24 rounds with Lewis taking far bigger punches from a far better version of Lewis.

Vitali showed courage and heart that night, no doubt but to consider some of his assets as "ATG" stuff is going too far.

I know it's a two-punch sample size but if a guy can take a flush left hand at full force like that from Corrie Sanders and withstand the huge uppercut Lewis landed that snapped Vitali's head back, you gotta admit that the guy's got a solid chin. I don't know how to rate his chin terms of history because frankly, it hasn't been tested enough.

Great signature punch for Sanders, that straight shot left hand.

Well Lewis was an ATG puncher & he landed many uppercuts & overhand rights and VK still didn't go down. I'd say Vitali's chin is up there with the best of them. Let me add that Vitali also took some crazy amount of body shots while in the clinch. I guess he has iron ribs as well...................

Clearly he was on the defensive and holding on, but he was pulled down-off balance-by Corrie's right arm.
It's obvious, and those of you that can't see it, keep repeating the same lying behavior in their lives that goes well beyond this forum.
They aare liars at work, church, social events.
Even their children-heaven forbid- become liars.
    You know who you are.

It reminded me a little of when Lewis caught Tyson with that last huge punch then pushed him down to the ground, yet the ref still called that a knockdown/knockout in Tyson's case. Sanders had Vitali hurt, and he looked to be on unsteady legs and he just pushed him down to the canvas after he hurt him.

100% on. ATG match up right there. Wlad vs Foreman is not looking good for Klit. Wlad would have to fight 115% to win it. Foreman has a better chin, power is excellent with both, both have gassed. If Foreman catches him flush it should be game over. Wlad is way more technical. 60-40 Foreman maybe 65-35.

That's why I try to rate these guys without bias. Anyone who says he is the best ever clearly does not know boxing.

So? Corrie didn't drop Johnny Nelson either, and Nelson was really a Cruiserweight.

And anyway, it's only CORRIE freaking SANDERS we're talking about. I's not like he's a measuring stick of greatness.

The answer to the thread question is "who knows". His chin hasn't been tested against enough quality opposition to say.

Yes, Wlad would be in for the fight of his life, and god knows it will take more than a jab to stop big george from inflicting pain on his oppenents.

I think you also got to remember how scary Foreman was back then, to the point where Ali was a 7 to 1 underdog against him. And were talking about the greatest of all-time, not a prime Ali, but a really good one. Even Louis was a 2 to 1 favorite against Marciano when they fought. But back to the point I was trying to make. Wlad would be down right scared going into this fight, I mean look at how much difficulty he had dealing with another crude fighter in Peter. Foreman would look to maul Wlad, which in return would make Wlad panic as he always does when faced against a big puncher on the attack. It would last maybe 3 rounds, with Wlad hitting the deck several times.

Agreed. The jab and grab type he used with Peter would not work with Foreman. What if Wlad lands a helluva right hand? Foreman gets the edge. Bad style match up.
