No matter whether IBF, WBA & WBC, Geale deservers to be inside 10 in all of them. Unfortunately, these days , peak bodies support their sub bodies & their titlists to ensure continued membership = $$$ e.g. WBA rates PABA champ Aussie Robbie Bryant (Oz rated #4) @ #9
I'd have him in 3rd behind Martinez and Sturm and in fairness he is there on merit. Don't know where i stand on Geale really. I think people in the aussie forum do go over the top on him especially sox. He is technically good with no power in his punches and volume punching and huge stamina is his main asset really. His wins over Karmazin and Sylvester don't look as good now as they did at the time in light of how Adama and Proksa handled them and beating Albert is nothing to boast about because an old Soliman did too. I have him 3rd because he has beaten better calibre opponents than than Golovkin, Lemieux, Macklin or Pirog. However, i think Golovkin would wreck Geale.
Agree with most of that BLH. Geale tends to push punch.Doesn't have the pop to trouble most of the top ten Golovkin would be all wrong for him. The hard punching 22yr old Lemieux had a set back against Rubio but gets his chance to redeem himself on 10th December. Peter Quillin is another who should be in what is shaping as a very interesting mix.
It's doesn't work that way. Just because Proska beat Sylvester more comfortably than Geale doesn't necessarily mean hes better than Geale. Lets put it this way Zappa lost to M.Vasquez 10 rounds to 2 roughly and was KTFO by Ameth Diaz. Vasquez will still school Diaz IMO. GO GEALE:good
Mundine could not finish Rigoberto off early in a fight with a Bloke ranked 46 in the World so lets not get to excited, all of the Top 10 mentioned in this topic would finish Alvarez off very early and it would not go the distance,Mundine probably should have won the Fight and he did but when it comes to Top 10 he would be Cannon Fodder, end of story.!!!
I think Martinez and Golovkin definately beat Geale. Geale Vs Pirog would be a very interesting fight, I think Pirog takes it, but Id love to see it. Both 2 technicians, would be a chess match. I think Geale would struggle with Andy Lee, based more on styles than anything else. I think Lee takes this. Id be leaning towards Geale against Macklin, as I think Geales composure and ability to counter would cause big problems for Macklin. I think Chavez jr is a poor mans Daniel Geale. So, I had Geale around 5-7.
BocRec shows Geale is pencilled in to defend his title in Tassie on 29th Feb 2012 V TBA. Good names on the undercard.
Top 5 or 6. Sergio obviously number 1, then theres another 5ish guys (including Geale) who are around the same level.
Wow, awesome card. :good Anyone know who Geales opponent might be, or any of the other fights? Kegsy, Ippy?
