Cintron is what he is, and he brings all the **** onto himself. At the end of the day he is a fighter and I give him respect for that.

As far as my comment, I just had a bit of sudden reaction when I read from you that you think Cintron would embarrass Cotto. I really don't think that at all. Cotto is well too schooled of a fighter to have problems with Cintron.

Cintron puts him in the dirt. 7 times out of 10. I'm more sure of it than I was about Pac-Clottey! :smoke

cintron is actually one of my favorite boxers right now but i do think that he needs to stop playing and really get in the ring with someone now that paul doesnt want to give him the rematch

NBA likes Cintron because he was beating Williams. So he has to make it like it was a good opponent for Williams. Just like he likes Quintana, Margo, and Martinez.

Damn. You make it sound like the only way someone could like Cintron is if their Puertorican.

Well, that's a mtter of opinion, one that you are entitled to. But one thing we know that's a matter of fact:

At least he had the nuts to try, unlike some other guy who will go nameless in this thread.

By the way. Did you notice that I never went around making threads or bragging about how Paul was gonna stomp his ass? Not once. It's because I knew from watching him closely the past few fights that he was going to pose a few problems. I kept my mouth shut :shock::shock: yes - I kept it shut.. for a reason.

Considering that Cintron agreed in principle to fight PTP in a unification match back in 2008 only to pull out of the fight because of an alleged hand injury and then proceeded to call out every other WW once PTP signed to fight Quintana (much in the way the Pavlik fiasco unfolded), I'm a little surprised that you've become so much of a Cintron advocate, NBA. :huh

Yeah, it's kinda wierd. When he pulled out in '08 we really had no animosity, because he hadn't really developed any type of reputation at that point.

The only reason I take up for him nowadays is because if you think about it, the guy will agree (in principle) to fight anyone in his class. I just think he gets such a bad rap, when other fighters have done much more pussified ****, and no one says a word. Plus the fact that he just reminds you of that dude you used to play ball with who always sat the bench tellin jokes and lookin at cheerleaders.

That has a lot to do with the fact that he's not in a position where he can call the shots and be selective. BTW, I thought his behavior in the Martinez fight was classless.

Either, it's legitimate gripe. Not enough to deserve the hate he gets though.

mercante jr should have ref'd williams vs. cintron..

he would have carried him back into the ring and said "stop being such a *****"
