I'm a bit torn on the fight tbh. But Conn is amongst my top ten h2h LHW fighters and if I'm torn in this matchup it makes me wonder how I see Ward against other greats.

Spinks I comfortably pick over Ward, but Conn makes me hesitate a bit more, I think it's close to 50/50

Some call Jones Jr an ATG SMW

Super middleweight is historically a much weaker division

they dont really mean that though do they, in terms of being just a SMW. They mean it like he was one of the few little guys who went up and took a HW title.

Who called who out is irrelevant, Dawson was a corpse and was already having trouble just making 175. Going down to 168 a weight he out grew 6 years before was SUICIDE. A cool breeze would of KO'd him.

I thought Dawson called him out at SMW, and the way his next fight went I don't think he would have done much better at LHW anyways.

You said that already and it's still irrelevant

I know it's just that nothing you said refuted my post.

    I don't know.

For me I think Ward is one of the best actual fighters to compete in and around the division in terms of how I envision fantasy fights going.

I obviously agree with all of those saying he was a top Super Middle. However, I only tend to make ranking lists for the 8 Original Gangster weight classes. So with that in mind, I'd place him somewhere around number 40 for now, I guess. That will doubtless change with time.

and yet put eight pounds on him and jones is superior.

its a difficult thing appraising athletes with so manny divisions.

    It certainly is.

I rank each man in one division only to try and keep it simple.

Not so much not ATG, just not in a ranking list.

Robinson was an excellent MW, but I think he was best as WW so I rank him there.

    Makes life easier.
