I've said in other treads why, and I know it's not a very popular opinion, but I rank him as number 1 pfp all time.

He just checks more boxes on the criteria of what makes someone great. Physical attributes, skills (and unique skills that he developed himself), longevity, IQ, heart, adversity overcome, resume (quality of opposition and rate of competition), all time great individual performances (watch him against Harold Johnson) able to coach others. He's just one of those guys that the deeper you dig on their career, the greater they seem to have been.

I don't agree with #1 pfp but you're right he ticks alot of the boxes, i think that you could make a reasonable argument for GOAT if he had atleast 1 win against The Cobra.

Totally inaccurate information. This info is not congruent with Moore's record on box rec or the boxing register.

Moore actually lost three times to Charles. But never to Lesnevich. He was 4-1 with Bivins, etc.

I got him at number 6 due to his body of work, knockout record, and that he was light heavyweight world champion, beating challengers left and right, when he was like 46 lol.

I get that perspective and respect it. At the same time, everyone has a style that will give them trouble. Their three fights we relatively close together and Charles just had Moore at that particular time.

Despite being older, Moore easily outlasted Charles at the top level. He probably could have got some fights with Charles 5 years after their trilogy and got those wins back.

In some ways I feel like they were the Roy Jones Jr and Bernard Hopkins of their era.

It comes down a lot to whether you choose pfp based on a shorter peak, or an overall career.

Archie has got to be somewhere near the top 10-15 p4p.

Like I think he quite possibly could be the 1 fighter in history who faced the best fighters in History.

Imagine saying you boxed all the Murderers Row fighters on numerous occasions with some wins over them. You boxed Ezzard Charles, you fought for a world heavyweight title against Rocky Marciano and near the very end you got in with a young Cassius Clay who went to be arguable the most recognisable face on the planet as Muhammad Ali years later.
Fought many of them at an advanced age. Incredible story, not to mention knocking out over 100 opponents.
