Take away his roids and how would he have been? He will always be a big asterisk to me. Claim to fame is beating Tyson into submission with his three pronged attack. Not even Iron Mike cold withstand that dome. Also beat Moorer, and Bowe on their worse nights. Lost to them when they came to fight.

Bowe was one of the greatest HWs that ever lived.

He would have never lost a fight had it not being for an extraordinary circumstance like a flying man invading the ring .

When have you ever seen a man fly from the sky into the ring before?

Anywhere from 7-10 is fine, but he's not the best since Holmes, that accolade belongs to Lewis.

no he doesn't. The wins by Bowe, don't define the careers of both fighters. Holyfield fought and beat, far far better comp during his career than Bowe did. He also has more title defenses and fought about 10 years longer than Bowe.

Klitschko destroyed unbeaten and highly rated Pulev when he was 38. If you think Holyfield at 38, who was busy losing to John Ruiz destroys that Pulev you are on crack. Which might be the case, you and your shooting buddy Oldsock. :yep

I dislike Evan Fields as much as the OP. If he wasn't American his achievements and style would be ripped to pieces.

PUlev who was getting minced by a 40someting till his fat opponent gassed, yeah higly rated PUlev was sure. That's wlad at 38.

now look at Wlad at 39, shot2shyte.

Now look at Lennox, retiring sensibly at 38.

NOW look at Jack Johnson, beaten by a man with a tenth of his ability at age 37.

NOW look at Jeffries, easily outsted at age 35

NOW look at Louis, a shadow of himself at 37

NOW lookat Marciano, well on his way to retirement before his mid30s because he knew he'd get beaten up soon.

NOW look at Dempsey, clearly slowed and beatable in his mid30s

NOW look at Ali, a shadow of himself at 37.

Now look at holmes, clearly incapable of holding his title after 35.

NOW remember we are talking about someone in their mid40s, not JUST 36 or 37 or 38.

FLOP mate, don't bring a knife to a tommygun fight. .

as I said, Gee, Holy at 38 was no great shakes, Klitscko had 3 titles and the ring belt and he's 50-50 top get three of them back in July at 40. Holy took losses to Ruiz, Byrd, Donald, Toney at that age. Barely competitive.

Gee, I admire Holyfield's career even though he was more juiced than the average Kentucky derby field, and went on too long. He rates below WK, just how it is. :deal.

He was getting an as$-whooping from Golota before the fool fouled him and got DQ'd.

And he wanted no part of Lewis.

Based on what he actually did do, 20 would be generous.

Evander, pound for pound is top 5, but I put him in the top 25 because of his weight. He just wasn't a true heavyweight. What a shame, too, because if he was 225 naturally, slightly larger frame, bigger legs, no one would have beaten him. What a heart. No one had a bigger heart.

Depends on your criteria. I like dominant reigns and Holyfield didn't have one despite some incredible victories that put him in or near the Top 10.

I rank him #11 at the moment...
