Where does he measure among all time greats. Also if he loses against Pacquiao, where would he rank then?
Too many great fighters from so long ago to really put a number on it. But in terms of era he rates below Pacquiao, Morales, Barrera, Marquez and Hopkins. About on par with Wlad and Jones Jr. And right above Oscar, Calzaghe and Mosley.
Morales was shot to hell against Pacquiao when Pac knocked him out. That win doesn't mean much. Pac's victories over prime Barrera and Marquez are better than a win over 38 year old Floyd. Pac also was the first man to defeat Cotto without cheating. His knockout over prime Cotto ranks high as well. So yes. If Manny wins it would be around his 4th best win.
Floyd is around 20-30, and could move up. Pac is around 60-70. Pac can move up a lot if he were to upset Floyd. Pac's ko losses were monumental in my judging where he ranks.
Not sure it's possible to truly map things beyond the top 5-10. But even these things are marred by massive historical bias - people have a tendency to think that because it happened in 1969 it is naturally better, even if they don't mean to. That's why I tend to avoid listing them. He's comfortably the best of his generation alongside Pac and that makes them both ATGs.
top 20 give or take now, if he beats manny 100% top 20 even his biggest haters cant deny that. youd have to start weighing up just how close he is to top 10 (nuthuggers will prob already have him top 5). and who knows.. if he faces a challenger like brook in september and ends his career undefeated with all titles at WW. that says alot
Top10 if he beats Pacquiao. I still see above him: SRR, Armstrong, Greb, Langford, Charles, Moore, arguably Ali and Pep. If he beats Pacquiao, Floyd would arguably be the greatest fighter of the last 60 years (that's brilliant if he consider modern boxing has 120 years).
ROFL sober up buddy Joe NEVER legitimately beat Bernard & never fought Benn ROFL If Floyd ranks just below Calzaghe he's about # 248
