Anyone that doesnt have Floyd in the top 40 is a buffoon. 6 belts in 5 weight classes, undefeated. Possibly the best 130lb fighter of all time. Seriously get the **** out of here with this ****. Shouldnt even be a discussion.

u have to have a extremely unbiased mind frame to rank fighters. as u can see the many biased opinons.....to be fair though i think Floyd is the most analyzed fighter right....probally a lot to do with his p4p status and his ego...but i think people scrutnize his resume and accomplisments so hard it almost belittles a great boxer. I mean skill wise the man ranks up there with anyone....boxing accomplishments...i mean he has done what only maybe 1 or 2 other boxers have done in history(maybe more but not that many cosidering how long boxing been around). I get that he hasnt fought cotto, didnt fight margo or Zu and if u really wanna be cheap spaddy....but thats 4 fighters...now margo and not A level fighters like a lot of you grade fighters.....so if he fought them it wouldnt mean much anyway. Cotto is really just now comming into his own we can substantiate that because Floyd offered the fight obviously Cotto wasnt ready so now the fight will take time so give it that. The Zu fight had many different variables as to y it aint happen i really dont think neither fighter is to blame...just how **** happpevs...different paths....but lets say he does fight these 4 and does he shoot way up in rankings? Thats only 2 "A" fighters and 2 "B" fighters...what makes these fighters so much greater and better than the wins he has now?

if u can be fair he is easily somewhere between 30 - 40. At least 50.

You will notice I haven't voted, because I haven't ever spent the time to compile a P4P list. There are simply too many fighters that would deserve consideration that I don't have video access to. Doing lists like this is not my forte, and won't be any time soon. My knowledge of boxing as I see it is in what I see in fighters when I watch them in real time, or on video if I have enough of a sample to look at.

My honest belief is that there are probably about 10-15 guys on this site that have credible P4P lists, and that the rest are full of ****. I want to see this guys list because I smell fraudulance from a mile a way. I know fan boys when I see their posts.

To answer your question most directly, I would say that while I don't have an operative list, I have do have an intuitive baseline for where I would place fighters if I did have a list. According to this, if Floyd were to fight and beat Cotto, he would be somewhere within 40 and 60. On a list of the most talented fighters ever, he would be in the top 20. I don't believe he has a burning desire to fight the best, and hasn't since he left 135lbs, and that would cost him on any list that gives significant weight to competition level.

Where do you have him, if I can ask>

40-50 depending on what i base my criteria on. If i go heavy on the H2H he's top 40 being that i feel he was the best ever at 130. But i haven't put together a whole ATG list for some of the same reasons you haven't. By me having no footage on certain fighters i dont think it would be fair to create a list.:good

I think Mcgrain had him top 40 i'm not sure

Sorry I dont need to compile a top 50 list out of the blue for a dumbass who calls Floyd a "prodigy" at 30 years old. :rofl

What we know is 5 belts in 6 weight classes and undefeated. Name 2 fighters who have ever accomplished that?

By definition, a prodigy is somebody with exceptional talents or powers. No where does it define an age limit.

I would trust a poster like Mcgrains list. The only thing I would ask of anyone's list is what their criteria is. I tend to favor H2H talent, so I would tend to rate guys like RJJ very highly, which some would disagree with if they favored resume, etc. Its a tough balancing act.

One thing I grow weary of is posters like this guy who say that anyone who doesn't rank him top 40 is an idiot. If he can't provide us with a list, he has no basis to say that. Top 40 is very high. If he made that statement about him being in the top 100, I wouldn't have reacted like that. But to say top 40 and that anyone who doesn't think so is a fool requires some reasoning be employed.

By the way I'm still waiting for him. You think he may be a while? ;)

With so many belts in a division, why are you making that to be some big feat? I mean, it is and it isn't.

You know, Floyd might be the only one to do that. Shouldn't that make him the greatest to you? I mean, why else would you ask that question, if it didn't carry so much weight for you?

As I suspected, you don't have a list. That being said, don't throw numbers around.

And this prodigy talk is just diversion from that of course.

This is fools play, just ignore it. I called him a prodigy, and it was a compliment to him. This poster is honestly just too stupid to realize it, and if thats not the case, he is just trying desperately to get out of admitting he has **** nothing of a P4P list.

G_RapPBF, I was wondering where you rank Mayweather in comparison to other greats. A simple 'below' or 'above' would do just fine.

    Sugar Ray Leonard
    Thomas Hearns
    Roberto Duran
    Harry Greb
    Henry Armstrong

Moronic. I dont have a list of the top 50 greatest basketball players of all time but I could roughly tell you where I'd rate Magic Johnson. I dont have a list of top 50 running backs in NFL history but I could roughly tell you where'd I'd rate Barry Sanders. I dont have a list of top 50 greatest boxers of all time but I could roughly tell you where I'd rate Floyd Mayweather.

If I told you I had Floyd squarely at #19 then maybe I'd be requiered to name the 19 in front and 19 behind him, but I said top 40, which could place him anywhere within that range. So your question was immaterial, because rarely anyone takes the time out of there lives to compile a top 50 list of anything. what you can say is what this guy did that nobody else did, who this guy beat during that stretch compared to others, how long this guy has remained on top, then the argument for Floyd being top 40 is quite easy.
