I have said this over and over again, hes not very far from whitaker at all. Whitaker fans have to rely on giving him the de la hoya win, even though it was clearly a close fight in which oscar landed the more meaningfull shots.

A win over cotto in dominating fashion should put him above pernell. Mayweather knew how to run and get the decision, pernell didnt, he can sit back smoke crack and be bitter about how he didnt get decisions all he wants. Mayweather's win resume isnt too far away.

There is no win on Floyd's resume as good as McGirt, Nelson, Chavez or a prime DLH. A win over Cotto isn't going to do much to rectify that gulf.

You can't deny that without talking ****.

Vasquez at 154 is a better win than anything on Joy Boy's resume.

Even if Floyd fought some fighters that he SHOULD have fought, Casamayor, Johnston, Spadafora, Tszyu, his resume still wouldn't be as good, so it's not really his fault. Just pointing out though, his resume is not near Pernell's and a win over Cotto is not going to make it so.

Where do you have him in your top 100?

Subsequently, where do you place Joe Calzaghe?

I don't feel comfortable having either in the top 100 at the moment, though I expect both to be in it when they are through.

If both retired today I don't think I'd have them in the top 100. Maybe Floyd would just scrape in.

Assuming Floyd beats DLH and Cotto in convincing fashion and then retires, I might have him somewhere in the 60's. (Mind you, I had Floyd losing to Castillo AND DLH, so 60 might still be too generous).

Assuming Calzaghe dominates Hopkins and then beats Pavlik, Taylor and maybe a Chad Dawson in good fashion, I'd have him probably somewhere in the 80-100 bracket.

Floyd did beat a prime Corrales, prime Jose Luis Castillo, a near prime Zab Judah, a prime Carlos Baldomir, a prime Jesus Chavez, a prime DeMarcus Corley, a rejuvenated Arturo Gatti, a larger but past prime De La Hoya, a past prime but still dangerous Sharmba Mitchell, a prime N'Dou, a prime Angel Manfredy, and an undefeated Ricky Hatton. That's pretty good. How many fighters can sport a resume like that?

He's definitely in the Top 30 of all time, and perhaps even Top 20. I can't go anymore specific than that yet. I'd have to look at every great fighter, and rank them, and right now, I'm too tired and out of time.

All of those wins, he'd have actually a better resume than Floyd, who you have losing to a B level Castillo and past it DLH.

PBF is a top 30 ATG. Undefeated 5 titles in 5 weightclasses beaten 90% of his opponents with ease, the best fighter of his era and best 130 pound fighter of all time and an excellent H2H fighter. If he beats Cotto he could arguably be top 20 ATG.

PBF is an excellent fighter, but he ain't about legacy.

He used to be, but now he's all about cash.

Honestly, while I would love to see how PBF would perform against Cotto or Margarito in the ring, I wouldn't want to see him get hurt.

Judging the current context of 40-50 fights per career and approximately 15-20 fights against contenders/top contenders, and also considering losses, longevity and the toe-to-toe basis, I rank Mayweather in the Top30.
