I have him top 20 on the ATG list, right around Sugar Ray Leonard. If he beats Cotto, he goes to the top 10. Where do you rank him?

Since Mayweather is moving up the alltime list as a welterweight, I'll compare him to a few head to head:

SRR: Should beat Floyd, he was the full package, punched harder and was biger

SRL: Should beat Floyd, same as SRR, and he was very, very fast.

Hearns: Should beat Floyd: Huge, fast, ridiculous power, outboxed Leonard.

Duran: Floyd probably wins decision with his speed and savvy but I would not be surprised if Duran won.

All faced greater competition than Floyd too.

Floyd is a great, great fighter, but he's gotta win a few more big one to be considered among the elite of the elite

In his defense, you didn't name a fighter besides Hearns outside the top 10 or so fighters ever, and PBF is not in that league at WW.

And in Hearns, you just named a guy who may be the best H2H fighter ever, if not, certainly top 5.

Hearns at what weight? I don't consider PBF a 154 fighter.. He should be judged on his best weight.. Hearns is too big for him..

The author put Leonard @ around #20. I just threw out the first names that came to my head in Welter. Ali, Louis, Haglar, I'd rank higher too. I'd put Salvador Sanchez up there with Floyd.

Hearns and Floyd fight @ Welter, they are both champs there and it's their common weight.

I have him in my Top30 or Top25.

Around guys Eder Jofre, Tony Canzoneri, Thomas Hearns, Barney Ross.

If he beats Cotto, he wil be Top15, around the best of the best.

Floyd's key wins @WW are Baldo, Judah and Hatton. The only legit welter is Baldo. Oh, I forgot Mitchell. How is he an ATG @ WW?????

    I like Floyd @ 130.

I think Cotto is making REAL noise at WW compared to PBF.

I think he has top 15 locked down. He may even be top 10.
I think the only thing keeping him from being among the elete is that while he has fought pretty good oppsition. However he has never taen on anyone that is precived to be a serious threat to him. For example. Hatton was too small and DeLayhoya was to old. Beating Cotto than possibily the winner of a posable Citron/Willams match. After that clean out the Jr. Middle weight division he will join the elite. If he can win a middle weight tittle or two I would find it hard not to rank him #1
