Based on what victories on his resume makes you think 3G can beat Hagler? Hagler, given the same opponents, would have a very high KO percentage as well and would be undefeated too! There is absolutely nobody on 3G's resume that comes close to what Hagler brought to the table! My statement in no way, shape or form is discrediting 3G as a fighter, he is an elite fighter but, until he beats someone on or close to his level, you can't make a statement like that!

Lets not forget the old saying, styles make fights! 3G is looking good against fighters that are flawed in some way. Any top notch fighter will exploit those flaws! Hagler, Monzon, Robinson and of cours 3G himself. Would 3G be able to do to Hagler what he did to Lemieux? I doubt it!

Lemieux was flawed! The guy was a champ and could not slip or counter a jab! His defense was his offence and his offence was nullified by a jab! Does anyone on this thread believe Hagler would have eaten jabs all night long like Lemieux did? No way! Hagler brought a whole different level of skill into the ring and no way 3G could do that to Hagler. Let me remind you also, Lemieux was 3G's toughest opponent to date.

What a fight it would be to see a prime Hagler against 3G! I actually believe the world would stop and watch this fight! Probably one of the greatest fights that could be made in history. Too bad they are from different generations!

The only way I believe 3G has any chance of being considered an ATG or put into the Hall Of Fame is to get out of the 160 division and get belts at 168 and 175 before he quits. Multiple division champs usally get a nod for the Hall. Staying at 160 just to get all the belts, knowing that the other guys are ducking you is foolish. He needs to make that jump if he wants to be remembered 50 years from now! He has the skills and the power to go all the way to 175. I've heard stories that he put cruisers on their asses in sparing! If he has enough power to drop a cruiser with the big gloves on, then he has more than enough pop to hurt a lightheavy with 8oz gloves.

he blew his chance to be an atg imo Braindamage......he had a chance to fight/beat ward at 168.....i honestly cant see ggg making it to lhw while ward/kova are still there......he could go to 168 and collect some belts but without beating ward there it doesn't mean a lot...

Like I said, if he did it , he would have a chance at being considered an ATG and put into the Hall Of Fame. I'm with you! I think his time has passed! He should have made his move sooner. 33 years old and only 34 fights! He should have close to 45 by now! This is a clear case of being mismanaged! Too bad! The guy can flat out fight! I still think he can make some noise but to become an ATG might be difficult this late in the game and no scalp of a prime fighter on his resume either! Gonna be tough! Oh well I'll enjoy what career he has left in him.

As if Ggg is an ATG.

If he IS so great....why is the bar set so low for him?

Great fighters do great things....Loitering in a dead division is not what greats do.

And not a particularly good one.

He shows amateurish flaws even against the bums he's fighting.

Imagine what happens when/if he grows a pair and actually takes a challenge.

And this is why people hate on GGG. His fans are on another level of horrible from the pacturds.

    Goloviturds make Pacturds look sane.

NEVER has a fighter received so much credit for doing so very little.

I think its difficult to class him as an ATG yet, hes done so little to warrant it. A lot of fans quote his defences but theres too many fake "regular" title ones to make it stand out - hes ostensibly still in single figures for world title defences.

HoF is where hes heading at the moment if he can sonjure up some record or significance before he retires. Arguably hes already one, in a backdoor kind of sense, since hes the most successful kazak in boxing.

On unifying another title and moving up I would have no problem calling him a bona fide HoFer.

That's going to take another year, after which hes going to be fading into serious post prime - hes probably not going to make an ATG in the time left available for his career.
