Where do you rank Hagler all time p4p and as a middleweight ?

He’s a difficult one for me.

    + for Hagler
Looked supreme against several fighters in what was his prime. Blasted out Hearns walking through the fire to do so, was smooth as butter and barely got hit dismantling Sibson.
Beat tough perhaps underrated guys like Hamsho and Obel.
Fantastic southpaw jab, switch hitting, economical movement.
All time great chin, conditioning and durability.
Great prime run of stoppages + Duran UD.

    - for Hagler
Lost to one or two lower level guys early in his career. A lot of greats did the same, and only really the Monroe loss is looked at with no controversy. Drew with Antuofermo and he wasn’t particularly young at that point, though still hitting his stride perhaps.
Struggled a bit with Duran, but Duran is an ATG top ten pfp. Likewise with Leonard, his tactics more than anything made him lose the fight. Hagler had slipped at this point however.
That said, Leonard was coming back from a long lay off, and Duran was getting old.
He seemed to lack confidence at times in his biggest fights.
Outside of Hearns, did he really face a great or near great middleweight? Hamsho perhaps was the best ?

Where does Marvin deserve to be ranked?
I have him second at middleweight behind Monzon, but struggle with where I’d put him in an all time top 100

I have him #3 all time at MW behind Greb and Monzon, and provisionally #32 all time p4p on my draft list, which needs a lot of further analysis before I'm comfortable with it.

In my opinion Hagler is a ATG, definitely in the top 50 all-time.

He's in the top 5 at middleweight. He was world champion for seven years (which would have been eight if he hadn't been robbed against Antuofermo) with 12 successful defenses of the world title, defeating Duran and Hearns, who had excelled in other divisions but were also strong and competitive at middleweight. Marvin narrowly defeated Duran, admittedly, but it was still a clear and uncontroversial victory. Hearns was heavily knocked out after three rounds of war. Then, during his reign, the Marvelous One defeated four other former world champions and lost the title after a close fight against one of the greatest champions in boxing history.

I have him top 40 P4P. With all the great boxers we've had being in past being being in the top 40 is quite impressive. He was that good
