not sure that Haye ranks anywere on ATG lists. Not enough fights vs elite guys. Haye is a great talent, but win or lose you have to beat elite guys to truely become an elite fighter. I would like to see Haye stay under heavy, he has an iffy chin at cruiser, dont like that now that he is moving to heavy.
why are we talking about haye being an ATG when he only had mormeck notable in his resume? Am i missing something here?:huh
the point of the thread was to discuss where david haye ranks in all time cruiserweight lists. that seems to have escaped some people.
:good It was a question of where does Haye rank all time at Cruiserweight, people just read the title and threw a fit.
Haye does not rank that highly at all Holyfield is regard as a great but not so much because he became undisputed crusierweight champion but because he then moved up and done the same at heavyweight too which is a unique achievement no-one else has done Haye wan one fight to become so called UNDISPUTED - and that was just knocking out Jean Marc Mormeck who is hardly great. Haye became No 1 then because he beat the man but he is not undisputed like Holyfield cos he has not claimed the IBF belt. No1 yes - undisputed - no. apart from Ko mormeck in 7 he also beat a paper champion to win WBO belt. haye is far from a all time great - if he can unify the heavyweight division then he could be considered a modern great - but right now on world level he is a guy who has wan 2 world title fights - hardly worthy of greatness
