On Saturday McDonnell faces Ivan Pozo (replacement for Bouziane) in what will be his 4th defence of his European title. Should he/will he attempt to step up to world level and put himself in contention for titles or will he continue to defend his current titles? Could he even move up in weight and put himself into the mix at 122? :think
I think hed have more chance of winning a title at 122 the champions at 118 are solid but i think he defs needs to move onto the world title scene sooner rather then later no need to wait around when you have momentum.
Sanigar is disappointed that Haskins didn't get call to replace Bouziane. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUCBkNn7rws&feature=relmfu[/ame]
I reckon Haskins would have to be a mandatory to get a shot. He's looking more towards the european/world scene! He proved himself against Hall because of everyone saying he was ducking him and not being the best domestically .
Because they don't want anyone who could potentially **** on McDonnell's bonfire and beat him, which is something Pozo won't do.
I think if he thought he had a shot at a European, British and Commonwealth he'd move up, especially to box a guy he's beaten before. Haskins doesn't seem very active.
Bouzaine would have been a good fight that would have really put him on the mix. keep defending and get a world title fight before the year is out. Jorge Arce is defenidn his WBC title on the Pacquiao undercard, why not try for that fight. After he loses, go up to 122 and your in the mix with Munroe, Frampton & Quigg as "x world title challanger"
