He really could, I’m not a list guy but Wilde seems obvious. Wilde is monstrous in everything I’ve read about him - wish we had more film.
He is very difficult to rank, because of the paucity of records in his era. He kept beating men who had a claim to the British title in their pro debut. They must have worked very hard in the run up to the fight. The bottom line is that most of the records from that era are missing. It is bad outside America, and it is bad outside the heavyweight division. In the Flyweight division, you might as well be in the early 19th century.
