Where does Khan go from here? Home, maybe even to bed. And shouldn't come back until he's found his chin
He goes for the British title like he should have in the first place. Perhaps now we'll finally get to find out if he's even the best at domestic level let alone anyone near world level.
I agree Khan should go back and take on the good British Lightweight Division we already have, prove himself and get experience. Sky Sports must be gutted lol, he may well be on Friday Fight Night next! Feel for him though, ****ing Hell Frankie has attacked the Trainer at his first chance.
A title is still possible but he has a weak chin so he would have to improve his defence an awful lot, this new trainer was meant to do that and this fight was meant to be a display of that. He's still young so within the next 10 years he probably could imrpove enough to manage to win a title.
That's the kick up the ass he needed in my opinion. I have to say what a brutal knock-out. Like I've said Khan has got some brilliant technical skills but if you have the chin he has he'll never be world champion.
McCrory wouldn't say it on live air, and nor would any of his collegues, but there is a reality here that must be addressed. Amir Khan isn't capable of being world level, and he probably isn't even good enough to be the best at domestic level. His speed is amazing, his power is good, and every single thing about him shouts world class...except for his punch resistance. This is what I love about Boxing. You have to be something special to even be operating at world level, which is why it's a disgrace that a lot of fighters like Calzaghe getting **** on by regular people. Elite fighters are a special breed, and Amir Khan will never be apart of that all because he can't take a punch. The best he can hope for is to become domestic champion but there is absolutely no way in hell he is world champion. Not in this lifetime or the next. The guys at Sky wanted to say it, but they would have probably lost their job if they had. Fighters come back from losses, but not 1st round knockouts against unknown and untested fighters. Amir Khan was almost on his back when he got hit by a jab.
He should have worked his way up the proper way taking on the leading domestic names instead of shamelessly ducking them and going the interalphabetty route. No doubt Messrs Thaxton, Murray and Romanov are toasting a certain Colombian over a nice glass of red somewhere.
You're a hopeful fan and I commend you for sticking with your man through thick and thin, but Amir isn't good enough for a world title.
