Which letter does 'The Lion' align with?
Near the top.
Chin lets him down.
Ali and Fury would have both got up from the Rahman and McCall punches.
I don’t think many people under the age of 50 would disagree with that.
There are still a proportion of ‘old timers’ who understandably over rate their own era for nostalgia reasons. Therefore, they rate Lewis in the B or C category.
OP got his counting certificate in Poundland?
The best, end of discussion.
I personally have him top.
But others will not but even then he has to be top 3.
He’s a certified great, without a doubt. I’d probably say 3rd, behind Ali and Louis, but ahead of Marciano, Tyson, Foreman, Frazier, Bowe, Holyfield and either Klitschko.
Chin was more than solid enough.
More than stood up to Vitali, Holyfield, Mercer, Bruno & Briggs who could all hit. Would say Tua & Tyson but they rarely laid a glove.
Those losses were more Lewis taking his eye off the ball...... so if anything it could be his lapse in concentration or not getting up for fights.
Over the vast majority of his career, when he was switched on, he was ****ing superb. Had it all.
A case can be made for B, C or D.
Top 5 for sure.
