He was 39 but also still a dominant champ with 27 defences between his flyweight and super flyweight titles, only having one loss at bantamweight to prime Donaire. Inoue is the only man to have stopped him too and he did it emphatically.

Mosley shot to no.1 when he beat Hoya so Lopez definitely has a place somewhere in the top 10.

He did but Forrest didn't shoot to number 1 for beating Mosley.

Taylor didn't even get top ten for beating Hopkins.

Douglas didn't get top ten for beating Tyson.

Horn didn't get top ten for beating Pacquiao.

So I don't think Teo is definitely top ten, unless you actually think he's amongst the top ten fighters in the world.

HWs don't usually get ranked in P4P lists unless they rack up a succession of good wins.

Manny wasn't on the P4P list when Horn beat him.

Taylor I believe did enter the top 10 after beating Hopkins.

I believe Mosley was no londer the P4P King when he lost to Forest.

    Tyson was number 1 though.

Pacquiao wasn't but only on a technicality.

Taylor did after the rematch, not after the first.

I'm not 100% confident but I do think Mosley was P4P number 1 when he lost.

The Thurman win got Manny back into the P4P rankings 2 years after he lost to Horn. Thurman wasn't ranked on the P4P list but Loma was the no1 or no2. . I believe Lopez will feature on the P4P list when it is updated next

Unifying 3 titles(arguably 4, don’t know what the hell is up with the franchise crap but he should be considered the undisputed champion now) is enough in itself to push for a p4p ranking, and Lopez did so by beating a p4p top3 guy. He’ll definetly appear in the latter half of the top10 when the lists are updated.

Beating Teo @ LW isnt like beating the dehydrated/drained Canelo Floyd beat. Floyd never took a risk like this in his career.

It is tough to slot him in since he has little depth.

He never risked fighting a dude who had one relevant career win?!

Yeah, you're right, he usually fought established champions, future HOF'ers, and then P4P'ers.

Lopez is absolutely on the top ten p4p list, maybe even top 5. You don't unify a division beating the (mostly) consensus #1 and not have your name on there. Does he jump up to #1? Hell no. But he's on the list.

You can't be p4p top ten on the basis of one fight. One fight can be a fluke. You need to beat a series of top fighters before you get placed in the top 10. He probably deserves to be top 20 though. For how young he is, he has a good record, and he passes the eye test as at least world class.
