An excellent list of opponents and nearly all of them beaten after Floyd had returned from a two year absense, was past prime and in some cases even moving up in weight. A few of the names mentioned are also no doubt future hall of fame inductees. Pac, Mosley and Marquez certainly are.

Mayweather resume is fantastic. And most importantly good luck trying to beat him and that includes any great for any era

Both are past their prime, but again, you're being too simplistic.
Mosley was more past prime in 2010 than Julio Cesar Chavez was when he fought Whitaker, we don't just put them both under the banner of being 'past prime' as it causes us to see their conditions as the same.
Mayweather is slightly past prime, Pac is straight up past prime.

Mayweather didn't really school Pac either, but unnecessary discussion may be had with this point.

I think a case can even be made for him squeaking into the top 10 all time p4p, though I don't think the world is ready to hear it yet. perhaps rounding his record off at an even 50-0 and picking up some wins over some young top raters in Kell Brook or Keith Thurman will seal the deal.

Well, we can't do "head to head" all-time and pound-for-pound. I mean, are we really going to scale all the fighters up and down and match them all up ? It makes no sense. All I can do is rate their performances and their achievements and opposition.

I think he's being overrated now .... I dunno maybe since Saturday's supposed "fight" ??

Look, even if my lifetime watching boxing, I've seen a good few greater fighters of recent eras, pound-for-pound, in my opinion.

I think Marvin Hagler was greater, for a start.
    Holyfield even.

Thurman is very overrated. His fight with Jan Zaveck told me everything I need to know. People still tooting his horn.

Just be honest with yourself and admit Mayweather would have schooled most of your old school greats

All great wins.. And Hernandez was beaten when Floyd had all but 17 pro fights. The man is an all time great and then some..

I remember you going crazy on here after Oscar-Floyd because people refused to "admit" that prime Oscar would school Floyd.

How on earth was Pacquiao rated #3 pound-for-pound in 2015, what, for beating Bradley or Algieri ?
I don't see his accomplishments since being sparked cold by Marquez in 2012.
    No one has explained that.

It's all HYPE to sell the fights. Just like Michael Spinks was rated #2 pound for pound by KO, World Boxing magazines before the Tyson fight. It's just the star factor

People fall for all the "star" name stuff and the BIG HYPE.
Let's try to be a little bit more objective about it.

Yeah but if Floyd schooled him 10 rounds to 2 while approaching the age of 40, I doubt many would be b1tching about it, with the exception of his most avid haters..

Excellent post Magoo I think a win over a young highly skilled undefeated champion like Brook or a young undefeated dangerous puncher like Thurman would do a lot especially if they go on to accomplish a lot. The ultimate test would be if he moves up in fights golovkin and wins he could move into my top five all-time with a win over him

Mayweather sits at number 12 on my list. One of the best ever
