That was when I also thought wladimir Klitschko was a fraud. My opinions change over time and I am man enough to admit when I'm wrong. When great fighters do great things I have to recognize it.

I think he is beatable at 147 ,and by quite a few, but he certainly schooled Manny.

Timothy Bradley was p4p rated as one of the best in the world and Algieri had just come off a war with Ruslan Provodnokov. Would you really hold a loss to Marquez against him - a career long rival who still rates at #4? Let's face it.. Pac was a huge win.. There were many who picked him to beat Floyd even today... Of course he lost and the first thing that comes out of anyone's mouth is " pac was washed up" or " pac was hurt." Same thing happened when Floyd fought Alvarez.. People thought he'd knock Floyd into next year, and the next thing you know those same people were babbling " Canelo was too green, and fought a stupid fight." It never ends...

Floyd vs Oscar at 135-140 prime for prime. Great fight Floyd Wins Unan decision

When Floyd fought Oscar he went all the way up to 154 to meet him.

    Please name them.

I think Floyd beats nearly everyone in history at 140lb. His best weight in my opinion.

In general, great fighters tend not to get schooled when at or near their best.

I don't find the idea of prime Oscar "schooling" Mayweather any more or less appealing than the idea of Floyd "schooling" Kid Gavilan or Jose Napoles. I think all of those scenarios are very unlikely.

Yes, I tried to tell you that at the time  and it was before Floyd filled out. Or maybe that should be "filled out".

For the record I see Floyd winning a unanimous decision over Gavilán.

Napoles? Jeez I don't know. I rate napoles really high top 20 fighter of all time top three welterweight of all time. This is a dream fight right here...

Napooles vs Mayweather I would make at 140. Two of the very best of all times

Uh ... yeah, I'd consider get sparked out cold at almost age 34 a something of a major setback.

I think most people were even saying "career ending" at the time.

There's some sort of special logic that gets applied here, so that Pacquiao is built up again for the MEGAFIGHT.

    Not me.

I expected him to lose. Mayweather was a clear favourite
I was asking the same questions before the fight.
I've been saying for 2 or 3 years at least that the fight has lost its real significance.
Everyone knows this fight was 5 or 6 years too late.

Where's all this new tide of denial come from ?
    I'm not understanding this logic.

Are you telling me Alvarez was the favourite against Mayweather ?

By the way, prime Mayweather would still be my favourite in a fight against prime Pacquiao though.

When I watched the fight for a second time, sure there was a lot of running, clinching (that deserved a point deduction), ducking below waist line, tugging against the injured shoulder etc. but there were also moments of defensive genius by Mayweather and Mayweather thoroughly deserved the decision. I'm not disputing he decision, it was a good performance by Floyd however cowardly he fights.

I will be willing to pretend that Mayweather beat a Pacquiao who was not injured at all if it can help kill the Floomo Pacctarrd wars.
