I disagree, imo John struggles to make LW and fighting a strong LW like kasitas will expose him and his defensive frailities

Wellk we wont know till it happens, people still underestimate Burns and he thrives of it,opponents and sparring partners cant beleive the defence hes got and his hand speed and workrate.Burns would beat him in a very tough fight though:good At least Burns would have no hassle in fighting him i now that for a fact!!!!!! i actually fancied it when i seen him at west ham's ground

It wont happen, because as usual, you will talk up a lot of high profile fighters and then we will be told he is fighting someone like Emmanuel Tagoe, or Daniel Lomeli.

But thats okay because these guys are great fighters, their ranked inside the top 15 of the WBO, which is our measuring stick isnt that right Billy?

I'd like a British promoter to take a punt and sign him.

Even though it's a bull**** title these days you could have his first fight for the Commonwealth, then a quick defence against someone pretty naff on an undercard of a big show..... gives him the audience.

That way it's not as much of a risk initially, he's never in a **** fight so people are bound to take interest, then get him a world title fight immediately after. Sorted.

    Rios or Maidana.

It's fighters that come forward that give him the best chance of success. Although with his scar tissue and the opposition he's faced, I'm not sure how much longer he can continue to face top-five fighters and still claim scalps.

Maidana Vs Katsidis @ 140 would be a quality fight. Katsidis being less sloppy and seemingly harder to buzz, I'd envision him winning a decision in a blood-soaked slugfest.

Katsidis could NEVER make 130 without being brought to the ring in a wheelchair.

Let's say he can, hypothetically. Katsidis would smash Burns, it's about levels :deal

That's actually a decent idea... He is known to the Britsh casual fan and has a reputation for being a banger, something that always sells tickets, and, as you say, he could easily land a World title fight...

That said, the current lightweight Commonwealth champion is Lee McAllistar who, if we're being completely honest, should be kept away from Katsidis :deal

    exactly

that fight would be hard to get sanctioned by sky ffs

Katsidis is in a difficult position - hes way way above british / domestic level comp that if he was put in with them he would simply walk through them all and stop them in a round which isnt great tv

The flip side is that hes 5% below the vegas HBO lightweights who box (maybe not rios / antillon / soto) so its hard to advance his career through that avenue. stuck in a hard place

I would suggest looking at bringin someone in to help some subtle defensive / punching techniques - seems likes he very close to brendon smith so would leave him but apart from some slight adjustments has he really changed since the amonsot / casaymayor fights?

    exactly

...although rios may be prepared to stand and bang with him. go away for 9/12 months and re-group, maybe an undercard fight on a big UK card, then go after him

I agree I suppose to a point reg the weight, I just don't think kats has got too much left. He's a good name for anyone to have on their record though.
