    Mijares at #8.

    Guzman at #10.

And yours? See guys, I do rake resume into consideration, because both of these guys are much more skilled than JMM, probably better fighters overall, yet JMM is in at #5 and they are lower, due to not having JMM's lengthy experience and resume marks.

I've got Rafa Marquez at #9 for comparison.

I have Hatton at #12, and just on resume, on ability he's not even top 20.

imo mijares could easily be in the top 3 if he has wins over montiel and castillo next year.

Yes but that is a big if, those are very good fighters. That is like saying JMM could be top 2 if he beaten Pac and Guzman this year.

yup thats why i said 'if'. castillo's ranked 1st by the ring at 115, and for good reason. i've been a fan of castillo for some time now, and imo would give mijares a good fight.

    Mijares is number 11
    Guzman is number 12

A few more solid wins between the two and they crack the top 10. Ability-wise, they are both top 10 with ease, but my pound for pound list is a mixture of mostly accomplishments and about 35-40 percent ability.

I don't have my list on me, but I believe I have Mijares just outside my top 10. Guzman might have cracked my top 20 with his most recent win, but if he did, it's just barely. Rafael Marquez I still have in my top 5, one spot ahead of Israel Vasquez (they're one and one against each other, Marquez was the better boxer in both matches, and he's naturally a lower weight than Izzy, hence he's a spot higher even though Izzy just beat him).

    Thats it Brickhaus.
Guzman has 2 quality wins in his career and suddenly his Top Ten in some fans books.

NOway there are others that have way better wins against better oppisition. Mijares i have at 11 i think though.

Curious, do you have Izzy in the top 8, or is he not even in your ten? I know you don't consider either of them very well-rounded (I think both threw their D's completely out the window against each other but are capable of much smarter and more technical boxing) and consider them basically just offensive masters. Do you rate Rafa's clearly more precise and textbook punching form over Izzy's intangibles (such as his determination, trying a particular attack or angle repeatedly despite lack of initial success until it works or he sees an opening to try something else)?

You may or may not have heard, but I personally have forsaken the p4p format altogether.

Mijares and Guzman are clearly two of the best pros out there today, that's all that matters. :good

Izzy at #7, though my P4P constantly moves and fluxuates, so he and Rafa can be removed at any point. I feel they are there due to some of the better guys really just lacking defining wins.

Marquez is the better of the two, but Vasquez may be the more effective.

Both need defensive improvement, but are offensive masters as I have said before.

Well, we're working to change 'p4p' into something more rational than just 'name' wins, which is a ludricris way to 'rank the best guys in the world'.

2 of boxings few supernaturals, special guys.

Such as Hatton, and to a point, not a league jump over these guys like Guzman and the main factor is that Guzman is just WAY better than Hatton, Hatton has had the oppurtunity to get better opposition.

I just can't see ranking a fighter who is inferior to another over the other guy just because of better opposition.
