Maximum respect to Big Luis last night, fought like a warrior and went out on his shield like a true fighter unlike Rigo. Anyway let’s say he wants to continue boxing. He did say at the press conference he would like a rematch but this is never happening. If you were his management where would you realistically take him? I can’t for the life of me imagine where he goes? Charr? I think Brezeale would be good fight but very risky. He’ll probably need three months at least to rest and recover after last night’s war. Thoughts?
He would still be favoured to beat any heavyweight currently out there that’s not named Wilder or Joshua.
That was his retirement cheque. He's old. He'll probably have a year chilling out, and then he returns to the gym he'll find he won't have the desire to work his way up to a shot again. Another Cuban heavyweight nearly man to add to Solis, Gomez, Perez
Hopefully he made himself more marketable now with this fight and he can get another good opponent next.
That's what I am thinking, maybe 1 more fight because of his name just show up for a paycheck and get destroyed by another HW contender and call it a day
The main problem he has is age. He doesn't have four years to spare like Tony Thompson had between his title fights. People not fighting him is obviously the other issue and he is only ranked by the wbc which is a joke in itself. The reward for beating him is just a wbc #3 spot. They may also demote him anyway. You have the farcical situation that he can be easily ducked.
Ortiz is marketable i hope Luis jumps on the gravy train for a couple of fights, takes the money and then goes away, relaxes, keeps his hypertension at safe levels taking care of family business
