You laugh at his career at Lw? I think his blowouts over champions like Rafeal Ruelas and Jese Leija were very impressive.. SO was his ko over the undefeated Genaro Hernandez...Also beat John John Molina. Molina and Hernandez are arguably HOf's at least borderline. And none of those guys were washed up. These guys were better than 90% of the guys on Lois resume.... Only 2 fights at Jw but stilli impressive he beat then undefeated 2 division titlist and former top 10 pfp Miguel Angel Gonzalez by a wide decision... Your trying to erase his win over JC because he came in with tender skin:patsch HAter!!.. Then why dont you erase Lois win over Perkins who had an injured arm?

Im convinced your a ODLH hater.. You have conviently forgot about his knockout wins over Rivera(who was robbed against Whittaker I) and to show it wasnt a fluke gave him a competetive fight the 2nd time too... Also Kod very talented Oba Carr, kod Gatti and legit contender Derrell Coley... Was dominant against Tito for 9 rounds and robbed...Close wins over Pernell and Quartey are more impressive than dominant wins over average euro fighters. Chavez was past it the 2nd time but still had enough to beat a lot of guys.

As for Loi he lost the first fight against Ortiz and baredly won a md in his home town? What was so dominant about that? And what is different than when ODLH beat Whittaker? ... He also barely beat an injured Eddie perkins in his home country, nicked him another time and lost the other one... Perkins was an excellent fighter but no better than Quartey, in fact Quartey was a top 10 pfp at the time and undeafeated, im pretty sure Perkins wasnt considered one of the pfp best at the time..

Oh and those Euro guys that Loi lost or had draws with... Jorgenson,Jose Hernandez,Nuek and some other no name italian guy are really better than the numerous champions ODLH kod?

Who did a Prime ODLH lose to that were lesser fighters than Perkins? Also ORtiz best fighting days were at LW.

As for Oscar in his prime his only legit loss was to Shane Mosley the first time and that was razor close.. Loi could have easily been called the loser in his razor close wins over Ortiz and Perkins... Most of Loi's reputation is built on his fights with those 2 guys and he wasnt dominant like you say.. Only one fight with Ortiz was decisive.

Now to Galindez during his title reign he was lucky to get a decision over the good but hardly outstanding Jesse Burnett,, Also barely got a split decision over the Pierre FOurie:roll: He had some other good wins but throw in those 2 fights and he wasnt more doiminant thant ODLH. He was also kod by the Mediocre Mike Rossman.. He might have been towards the end but even an old ODLH would never have been stopped by the likes of Mike Rossman.. Instead he was giving PFP number 1 Floyd Mayweather all he wanted..,, You want to bring up ODLH ko loss to ATG mw champ and much bigger Bernard Hopkins? Well then throw in Galindez ko loss to the very good but hardly great Marvin Johnson in his own weightclass.

Also ODLH won titles from JL to JM and at one time was considered number 1 pfp and for most of his prime in the top 3!! Loi and Gallindez fought in one division and were never considered among the best pfp fighters. Top 10 yes but never number 1 or top 3and 4.

THeres a lot of other fighters you have above ODLH.. And i Oscar would **** all over there resumes.... Not to mention just on ability alone.

I'm actually surprised that anyone can place oscar outside of the 100. It isn't really justifiable.

I don't know enough about ODLH and most of his peers to rank him.
I never thought he was as good as Roy Jones Jr. or Pernell Whitaker.

But whoever posted that list of 100 "greater fighters" than Holyfield et al. is having a ****ing laugh, surely.

18 out of 20 experts polled by The Ring picked Oscar to beat Pacquiao.

Were you a fan of boxing waaaaay back then in '08?? :patsch

    Your logic is superior:

"Did you see my fight last night?"

"No I missed it, how did you get on?"

    "I held my own."

    "Yeah?"

"Yeah. I got knocked out cold in the 2nd round."

"I thought you held your own?"

"I did. Up until the point I got ****ing KTFO."

    "Great."

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

Odlh's resume is deep and rich. In his prime he should have gone 1-1 with mosley. He never clearly lost until he stepped up and fought two of best middleweights out there.

His loss to floyd was clear but competitive. His loss to pac was brutal. But aside from p4p number 1's and middleweights, noone clearly beat him.

Totally different and you know it.. Why are you avoiding the question? Obviouly i was. When im stating facts and opinions, they are not guesses, assumptions or some 2nd hand info i heard from some noob on the internet... Its because i was already a hardcore fan for many years when most of these fights were taking place. Chavez wasnt weight drained or a zombie like Oscar was,and i know Chavez was still highly regarded because i won quite a few bets on that fight. The past it Chavez that ODLH beat still had enough to beat Bradley or Kahn today.

Yeah, that's why he lost to Frankie Randall. You're a "hardcore" fan alright.

Randall would have also beat any JW today, Randall was an excellent fighter.. He just wasted a few years in prison and drug abuse(before he fough Chavez).. After beating Chavez he was a top 5 or 6 guy for a couple years.

Hey Kittikasem any time you wanna match wits bring it... I barely even heard of you.

More a stop over than a 'career'. And those guys are no better than the likes of Glen Flanagan, Ray Famechon, Orlando Zulueta, Bruno Visintin on Loi's resume.

Wasn't it Loi that hurt his arm in the first fight?

The value of the first Chavez win is massively blown out of proportion. Firstly, because Chavez had already (really) been beaten by Randall twice and got his title back on a joke call by Homansky. And secondly, when a fighter is pissing blood before he's even been tagged solidly, he's severely hampered.

DLH's resume is better than Loi's, I never said any different. I just don't think the gap between their resume's is as wide as you suggest.

And just so we're clear, the second Chavez fight meant jack ****, it was just a gap filler whilst DLH was ducking Whitaker and pretending to have a full schedule. Same with the Camacho farce.

Difference is Loi was past his prime and at the end of his career, whilst fighting a PRIME Ortiz, UNLIKE DLH who was IN HIS PRIME and fighting a PAST PRIME Sweet Pea. Lack of dominance at the tail end of your career doesn't really mean as much as lack of it during your prime.

Firstly, in which fight was Perkins injured? I haven't heard that he was injured in any of their fights.

Secondly, Perkins beat a LOT of better fighters than Ike ever did. Fair play though, Ike was a difficult opponent, despite his lack of resume, but if you hadn't seen him fight I bet you would have been calling him an AFRICAN-level fighter.

I'd say that Mosley is a lesser fighter than Perkins, though probably not by much. Had Perkins fought at home, his record would be a hell of a lot less patchy than it currently looks like.

Ike and a post prime Whitaker, both of whom most felt beat DLH, are probably on par with Perkins I'd say. Difference is when Loi lost to Perkins, he wasn't square bang in the middle of his prime. Oscar was.

As to Loi's losses and draws in his prime, well I think most can be accounted for when considering where the fights were held. or the circumstances before those fights taking place (e.g. the Johansen fight was in his backyard and many consider it a robbery, and against Hernandez the guy had been in a car accident and injured a few days before the fight).

As for Ortiz's best being at lightweight, well, he was a massive lightweight, and he would clean up most highly regarded junior welters imo.

And DLH was decisive against Whitaker and Quartey? Look it's fine if you think he beat them and then that makes you think that he was dominant, but for every person that thinks he beat them, you'll find guys that think he didn't. Same with the second Mosley fight, though most admittedly felt Oscar won that one clearly, me being amongst them.

I'll come back to the rest of this, I've got some things to do right now.

I haven't seen the fight. Do you have a scorecard for it? Haven't seen a tape of it around, so you either saw it live or heard that he got lucky. Do you at least have a source that says he got lucky?

Haven't seen this fight either, though I have seen the first fight where Fourie (also) claims he was robbed. I had it 148-139 to Galindez.

Have you seen it? have you heard an objective source claim that it was a robbery?

Interesting that the South African judge had it for Galindez. To me that says something. If I had to put my money on it, I would bet that Galindez was a clearer winner in this one than DLH's against Whitaker and Quartey. If you fight in another man's backyard and get the W, 99 times out of 100 you earn it.

As far as I know he never lost or deserved to lose in his prime. That DOES make him more dominant than DLH.

A paragraph I can counter with the simple truth that it doesn't worry me too much what happens to a fighter way past their prime. DLH's performance against Floyd was admirable, but he still had something to give by that stage. Galindez was not near what he once was when he fought Rossman and Johnson.

DLH wouldn't have been no.1 p4p in their eras either, unless of course it was a popularity vote. Or do you think he'd rate above the likes of Duran, Monzon, Napoles and Moore, Marciano, Saddler, Robinson and Basilio?

Galindez fought in one division, but he was dominant in it and fought an excellent bunch of fighters regardless. If DLH stayed at welterweight his whole career and fought the likes of Forrest, Lopez and Floyd there instead of what he did in the lower weight classes, would people call him a lesser fighter? Some would, I wouldn't.

Agree. Of course, they were more dominant that he was, and their dominance was of a greater sort than the superiority of DLH's resume to theirs, hence their higher ranking. :good

I will say this about DLH: I have no problem with people ranking him quite high, so long as they think he beat all (or nearly all) the guys he had close fights with. I don't think he did, so to me his resume is not as sparkling as others perceive it. If that makes me a hater, or a hipster, or a general forum poster, or whatever other things I've been called in this thread, then so be it. :good
