There have been a lot of fast handed fighters over the years. In the lower weights he was fast, but I wouldnt say he was one of top 10 fastest ever, but as he has been moving up and carrying his speed with him, I can honestly say he has two of the fastest hands I've seen at 135 and up. While I dont think he is the fastest of all time, he is in the top 5 imo. Roy Jones is #1. Not sure where to place Manny, but hes not far off.

Pacquiao is in the top though.

Hes fast but not as fast as Meldrick Taylor or Hector Camacho probably the two fastest fighters i've seen.

Honorable mentions to prime Mosley,Ray Leonard,Roy Jones and Howard Davis.

Pac comes after those guys alongside guys like Ali,Tyson and Mayweather.

A more interesting question for me is has there been anyone with Pacquiao's foot speed?

I think that "all time" gets thrown around too much when talking Pac and Floyd and contemporary fighters... ALL TIME?? I dont think he is as fast as floyd even... and that is HIS time, let alone SRL, Sweetpea, Meldrick Taylor, Jones, Prince Naseem, ( i think a round 1-4 judah is faster), Spinks, Willie pep, young shane mosely... All of these guys (some are even from HIS era!!) I think are faster than him.

Pac's speed is not even in his best asset, and I don't think it ranks with the very best ATG. It's a lot more about his master footwork, the use of angles, the superb timing and the lethal accuracy of combinations. Given the weight they carry IMO Wlad, Haye, Pascal, Sillakh, Ward, Dirrell, Martinez, Mayweather, Berto, Khan, Bradley, Gamboa, Nishioka, Koki Kameda and Luis Concepcion match Pac in that department, but fail by some margin coming to movement, angles and timing.

roach said guys like khan are faster.

as others said, its not his speed, its his footwork as well and other things. he has very fast feet.

Pac has blinding speed. The thing about him is that he sustains the speed with power. So maybe Meldrick Taylor shoe shines faster. There has never been a faster swarming, continuously busy combination puncher with this accuracy and power. Floyd does not throw as many punches, but one shot may be almost as fast. His timing makes him look faster than he is. Roy Jones was fast as hell and threw sick hook combinations but only intermittently. Zab is deadly quick early but gases and is never busy at all.

Pac and Meldrick are the two sustained combination speed guys in my mind, who keep busy and keep firing combos, but Pac has a lot more power and it makes it more impressive that he doesn't tire out more. Most really fast guys fight in spurts or don't have power, Pac has been fighting in spurts at times at these very heavy weights but in general he is still very busy.
