he becomes a high class journey man losing to every supersix fighter and lucian bute and will stay with his inbred trainer
New trainer will NOT happen. He will move up in weight. He hasn't decided if it will be SMW/LHW as of yet.
The hell away from Bute. He needs to revaluate his career & look to see what division he should fight in then pick up a couple of wins in the weight class he's comfortable in before fighting elite competition there.
Paving driveways. Growing world a class beer gut. By leaving 160 he is leaving behind all the winnable money fights people want to see.
Im not a big Pavlik fan, but he is one of those boxers i root for i really feel he needs a new FN trainer! Steward would be perfect for him methinks....anyone but that Jack Loew
I'm privy to a few things that have not been made public. He knows he was not at his best for this fight and it turned on the cut. Knowing what HE knows may mean he has not lost confidence and may feel that he will be much better off at 168/175 health/stamina/ability wise. This of course is his call, but he may not have lost his confidence. I kind of doubt he did. Having fought at the level he has I don't know if he wants tune ups.
Rematch Hopkins. Think about it. Going into the Hopkins fight Kelly was "boxing's next super star." He fought Hops while suffering from bronchitis and an elbow injury, and got his ass kicked. And that is the exact point at which his career went south. I do not buy into the idea that Bhop is shot just because he looked bad against Roy. The main reason Pav was a 4/1 favorite over Bernard was that BHop looked like **** against Joe. The old man came out in his next fight and put on a great performance. When I see Bernard come to the ring in a ****ing wheel chair, I'll believe he's shot. Another idea I do not buy into is the myth that says Pavlik's illness and injury made no difference. That is pure stupidity. Pav at 100% does not lose 10 freaking rounds to Bernard. I also think KP would be a lot more comfortable at the weight now than he was 2 years ago. Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins: That's where the trouble started, and that's where the demons live. Exorcising those particular demons would do Pavlik a world of good. At this point the fight may not do much for legacy, and a loss would be devestating, but a clear win would change everything.
