You haven't seen the Chavez fight, so why am I supposed to take your opinion on it seriously based on what you've heard from butt-hurt Mexicans?

The Nelson fight was a beautiful performance. Your criticism of it just continues to give credence to my point that you just don't know boxing, and I won't go any further than that.

If he ran from DLH, how did he out-throw and out-land him?

He didn't run "much" from Tito? Tito was the one fighting off the backfoot in the early rounds because of Pea's jab and pressure, and he was actually getting the better of the inside exchanges early on. This was a shot Pea getting the better of a prime Tito in an in-fight until he started to wear down and Tito turned the heat up.

    he ran against DLH?:admin :nono

ANd why do you want fighters with great defense and movement to stand in there and fight which plays into the other fighter hands? that makes the fight easier for their opponent that isnt smart boxing

 I'm guessing you don't spot the irony there!

Part of the reason I don't spend too much time arguing with sensitive, irrational and biased posters here...........................You morons take everything too personal:hi:

I didnt see him fight Chavez, cause he ran from him.

You can resort to race baiting crap if it makes you happy, Im sure MLK would be proud of you. :-(

Didnt Hopkins resort to this type of crap? Didnt Roger Mayweather claim to e a mexican assissin before Chavez beat the chittlins outta him?:good

I was responding to Ramshall genius. You should probably read who I quoted before responding in the future instead of just assuming it was yourself.

And what of my posting has been irrational? Or biased even? Pretty much everything I've said had to do with fact or logic, Ramshall is the illogical one by denying them flat out because he's mad that Floyd dominated his favorite fighter.

What did I say that was racist? I said a bunch of butt-hurt Mexicans were mad because Chavez got owned. Is "Mexican" a racist term nowadays or something?

And your post was worthless because you mis-read me and failed to answer anything I've said, and that applies for most of my posts in this thread.

Well of course it was worthless, it came nowhere near to giving Pea a blow-job:lol:

    So disprove my points.

Also, you said Pernell only had one great win, which I disproved, and even when I mentioned the guy you considered his one big win, you tried to tear that down and had nothing to say to it when I responded. You're not responding to any of my points because you have nothing intelligent to say. You're simply trying to take this argument in another direction and keep logic and facts out of this.

Wait, so we are talking about Floyd now:huh

....and I'm the one who's trying to take this into another direction!:hand :readthre:

I have Whitaker #1 pound for pound. This is not the first time nor will it be the last time that I make this statment. Any ranking is opinion and in my opinion Pernell Whitaker is #1.
I base my ranking on the combonation of 1. His boxing abilities he was as good as if not better than anyone else who ever steped in to a boxing ring. His defense was one of the best of all time. I only rank Nicolino Locche higher and it is close. He also had an outstanding work rate on offense and at lightweight had decent power 13 knockouts in 26 wins. 2. his acomplishments His wining world tittles in four difrent weights. 3. His level of compotion. He has wins over Greg Haugen, Jose Luis Ramirez (2nd fight,), Freddie Pendleton, Azumah Nelson, Juan Nazario, Jorge Paez, Rafael Pineda, James McGirt(X2) and Julio Cesar Vasquez. I realize that not every one on that list is a Hall of Famer but they were the best of his era. His loss to Jose Luis Ramirez is considered to be one of the worse robberies in boxing history. His draw with Julio Cesar Chavez is right up there as well. In his prime he out preformed all of his poents the only blimishes on his record (prime) were the questionable decisions to Ramirez and Chavez. And no he did not run in the Chavez fight.. He was at least compititive with Oscar De La Hoya he might have been past his prime and De La Hoya in his prime. but Whitaker past his prime is still pretty good. His loss to Felix Trinidad was after a 16 month lay off.
Fell free to disagree with me I won't fell insulted nor will I tell you that are wrong in having someone else at #1 P4P My guess is Robinson or Greb. P4P rankings are opinion and not fact and in My opinion for the reasons stated above it is my opinion that Pernell Whitaker is the best boxer of all time.
