You invented a hypothetical that he was KO'ing people in the streets. But imagining that he was practicing throwing punches in his room is clutching at straws? I think you may have dropped a few IQ points back there...
And what is YOUR experience? That hitting fresh air makes you punch harder? Take that nonsense outta here. THERE IS NO RESISTANCE. Get that through your head.
No, imagining that he got ALL OF HIS POWER through shadowboxing in his bedroom is clutching at straws. You know what? I love your content and the lengths you go to to find it, but you know f*ck all about the technical side of the game. Like someone else said - you don't see Phelps windmilling. He's in there practicing against RESISTANCE (the water), ffs.
The man should stick to making videos. World class trainers have told him that he hits like a mule. No doubt that's down to fresh air, Dempsey books, and the shoulder snap.
So you have zero experience? Got it. Again, I've been told by a world class trainer, perhaps the best amateur trainer in the country, that I hit like a ****ing mule. I was told this often. And pretty much every person at the gym I had a pleasure of talking to said the same thing. And pretty much everything you've said in this thread regarding punching power is bogus.
If you think Wilder practicing his power by KO'ING PEOPLE IN THE HOT STREETS OF ATANTA. Is more plausible than him learning power punching through shadow boxing, then you might actually be ******ed. You pulled that out of nothing but your own imagination? Holy ****. Ok guys maaaybe boxers are getting better, but people are definitely not getting smarter.
And let me guess: You got your power from hitting fresh air, reading Dempsey books and practicing the shoulder snap, right?
I have got experience, actually. Do you know how, besides having natural power, I developed it? Pads & bags. I don't hit fresh air as I don't benefit from it. I'm hitting NOTHING, so what can I gain from hitting nothing? Nothing.
Let me guess, you saw some cool Foreman and Tyson videos, had some stupid theory about why they hit the way they do, and ran all the way with it, right? Cool, you tried that experiment, and it failed. Because there are people in this thread with perhaps minimal, but real experience, who are laughing at your dumb proclamations about power.
One of the best boxers in the history of the sport, and one of the best Olympians / amateurs this country (meaning the USA) has produced had a so-so pro career because of his total lack of power. Howard Davis jr. could do almost anything in a boxing ring,,,,,, except hit hard enough to keep far lesser skilled opponents off of him. Fighters he fought had a almost total disregard of his power at the pro level. His technique, accuracy, skill level, and speed were almost off the charts. But, He would make a average puncher like Pernell Whitaker look like a knock-out artist. So when you look at him, and many others who were highly skilled but had limited power, their maybe something to the thought of punchers, like great sprinters, or Michael Jordan is something your born with, the explosiveness to create the force to knock a opponent out without the winding up you may see from a George Foreman,John Mugabi,E.Shavers or the average street fighter . Look at J.Louis, his punches rarely traveled more than a foot, but the power he generated was off the charts. It was a gift, ALONG with proper technique and skill level that created the power he generated. Another fighter, Julian Jackson, had the same attributes. Anyone can be taught proper punching technique. But NOT anyone can be a knock out artist.
Yet people believe your method of hitting nothing (fresh air) is great for developing power, and that's not laughable? F*ck off you crank.
I actually am. I supposed had I met you and learned your methods of hitting fresh air, reading JD books, and the "shoulder snap" I'd be the next Golovkin!
