Hard to know who they were whrn they were never in position to have exposure to the masses wouldn't it? I'm not playing this game. If you want to try to argue that drawing the color line = no stones unturned then more power to you
Looking back on your first post you said you could name dozens of unturned stones where Dempsey and Tunney were concerned. I named Wills in Dempsey's case. Who are these others. Did you forget them all ?
In the low 20’s.... he was great when he was on but he never lived up to his full potential due to gluttony and a douche manager.
Great and skilled fighter but brief career for him. Many put him in the list of the best 10 HWs ever. I think instead hes close. Sure that at least Ali, Foreman, Holmes, Frazier, Dempsey, Louis, Marciano, Tyson, Holy, Lewis (not in order) precede him...
Talent and mythical head-to-head I think I’d place him a lot higher than the 20-25 ranking I estimate I’d give him if I sat down a did a thorough ranking.
Some strong points...but I'd be astonished if anybody actually thought Bowe won those Golota fights. Golota ruined him imo.
A lot of people don't realize or give credit that Gonzalez win was a big deal, Gonzalez was a prime contender. Bowe knocked the crap out of him, but it wasn't an easy fight. He showed a lot of heart and Tyson-level one-shot power imo.
I favour H2H over resume when making my lists, although I do consider both. Even so, it doesn't quite sit comfortably with me for Bowe to be inside the top ten. As such, I have him at... number 11 !
