Much harder to say given how big a favourite he is.

He's top 3-5 already isn't he, for Loma to go number 1 I'm not sure who he'd have to beat, Berchelt and Salido would probably be enough, Mikey Garcia would cement it though.

I would have him at either #1 or #2 (right below Crawford).

Honestly, I give him absolutely no chance of beating Lomachenko, and see him getting knocked out. Very, very, VERY rarely does a fighter jump up two weight divisions to immediately fight the most elite fighter in that division, and actually win or even survive 12 rounds. In this case, he's not only doing this, but also facing an opponent who many are quick to consider the #1 P4P fighter in the world. If he proves me wrong, Rigondeaux should be considered, arguably, the best boxer on this planet.

Side note, if Lomachenko wins, I will NOT have him as #1 P4P. This guy is arguably the most skilled active boxer, but he's also tremendously overrated, given his resume. He SHOULD be able to easily beat a much smaller man.

Lol if he is he hasn't proven it yet, resumes win arguments not eyesight.

Lol this is what I'm debating this poster about, Loma is clearly one of the most skilled fighters but to put him no.1 is jumping the gun to me.

A Garcia win or adding to extra belts put him no.1 if everything stays the same for me, Rigo is a great win but with the inactivity, age and weight disparity it's hard to give him the credit he would have got at a catch weight.

Rigo has nothing to lose for me. If he doesn't win he's lost to a bigger younger man whilst in his late 30s.

If he does win he establishes himself as the best in the world.

Low risk, Low reward fight for Loma (Moves up 1-2 spots, so it depends where you rank Loma now)
High risk, High reward for Rigo (Should be #1 P4P for most people, unless they rank Loma very low P4P)

Your right and tbh honest if he loses, it might make some of the cowards that ducked him think he's beatable and challenge him. It's a desperate move his pulling but at this rate he will be ducked into oblivion if he doesn't do something hasty.

It is purely off the eye test as resume is a long way short yet he clearly is a unique and special talent.

I think if Rigo wins he is p4p 1 no question

Your spot on, to be honest I do think it's medium risk medium reward for Loma. If Rigo beats him he will be looked at as a hype job by a lot of people kinda like Gonzalez due to all the chips being stacked in his favour. He goes no.2 for me if he wins.

This. A lot for Loma to lose with this fight.

With Ward retiring. And the shitshow judging that went on with GGG/Canelo. The winner of the Rigo/Loma fight will undoubtedly be #1 on my list.

The only way they will be surpassed is if Crawford moves up and beats Spence or Thurman, then I'll have him at #1 above all else. Also, if Spence beats Crawford, I'll put him at #1.

So the WWs can shake things up in time. However, for me, the Rigo/Loma winner will be a clear #1 for now.

Disagree, and I rate them both very high.

GGG needed the win against Canelo. The judges screwed him, but he still didn't decisively beat Canelo. And given his close fight with Jacobs prior. And his most notable win being against a WW. All that is keeping him from the #1 P4P spot for me.

Crawford needs another big win for me also. I think if he moves up and beats Thurman or Spence, he'll solidify the claim.

the 3 most skilled fighters right now were all atg amateur boxers and didn't turn pro till they were 25 and 28. That's lomachenko GGG and rigondeaux. They have wiped the floor with the pros because they were fighting at a much higher quality than the fat journeyman pros Crawford has been learning his craft against.
So I will include amateur boxing in lomas resume.
