Where does rigo on the p4p list

He DOMINATED a guy some had as p4p #1 and you rate limited fighters and fighters coming off a brutal KO like Froch and Pac above him? Slap yourself.

 

Taking P4P for what it means I struggle to separate Ward and Rigo for the top spot.

 

Rigondeaux is now number 1. Donaire was something like p4p no.4, and Rigondeaux absolutely schooled him, so he must be no.1.

 

I'm the first to criticize people throwing folks into the p4p list all of a sudden, but I think exceptions should be made when you beat a p4p fighter. Especially when you totally outclass him.

I've got Rigo at #3 behind Mayweather and Ward, the only two guys I think are better than him skill-wise. I can see having Martinez and Marquez in front of him based on accomplishments, but I do not see Rigo as any lower than #5.

 

I think Mayweather has to stay at #1. He is a defensive master and he doesn't get dropped. Rigo, good as he is, still has occasional lapses in defense and isn't as comfortable on the inside as he is on the outside.

Mayweather, Ward, and Rigo all share an ability to see the fight and take control of rounds. They are masterful ring generals who display this quality against other top fighters (and bigger fighters) and I think that skillwise they have to be the top 3, but Mayweather hasn't shown a weakness and has to stay at #1 because of that.

 

I think losing rounds against Cotto, and eating DLH's jab showed that Mayweather has weaknesses. Even if Floyd has been dominant lately (he hasn't) then it's hard to rate him since he has fought so infrequently. Mayweather didn't look comfortable on the inside against Cotto either. The last time Mayweather fought a bigger fighter was against DLH.

Cotto definitely had a weight advantage, and yes Mayweather took shots but he wasn't ever really in danger of losing. I just see him as more solid than Rigondeaux currently, but that can change in a couple fights. I think he looked comfortable on the inside because he stayed there for prolonged stretches. And it wasn't like Cotto was leaning on him or had him trapped, Mayweather was trying to catch him with counters. And remember, Cotto is indomitable and has been through the wars. Nonito was pretty much a frontrunner from what it looks like.

We'll see if he's slipped against Guerrero. If Robert gives him any trouble at all I'll consider moving him back a notch or two.

IMO juts around the 7th or 8th.

Part of the reason is, he beat a P4Per in Donaire but he has earned that status by being in 4 weight classes and being a champion in it.

If Rigo wants to be any higher, he should be ruling 122 longer and taking on anyone at 126.

Pacquiao beat Barrera who is number 3, but he ended at 5th, even if Pacquiao was already a 2 division weight champion. You get the point.

 

This has to go down as one of the greatest wins in recent times

 

Top 5 no doubt,maybe top 3 in near future if he keeps winning.Always knew he was p4p caliber & ppl just laughed,it's kool who's laughing now...
