Greb knocked out Light Heavies, he broke them down. Not in the exact same way Jones did, but we aren't talking an exact duplication.

No we have earlier footage of Moore when he was 34-36 (and I'm sure I've seen 40s footage posted by Suzie Q), he isn't nearly quick. Jones was 39/40 against Calzaghe and unlike Archie didn't age well. It's a different career arc, Archie is arguably at his best as the Johnson series progressed.

Stylistically there are similarities between RJJ and Moore, but Jones could just do it all do it far quicker. Overcoming Jones massive advantages in speed and reactions would be near impossible for nearly all LHWs in history. Skill wise Bivins and Langford aren't in the same league.

Lloyd Marshall, Michael Nunn, Hagler and Golovkin would have overcame it @ 160. Possibly prime Julian Jackson, Jermain Taylor, Kelly Pavlik, Gerald McClellan, Reggie Johnson, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubanks too. Nunn, McClellan and possibly Jermain Taylor, Carl Froch , Kelly Pavlik, Eubanks, Liles and Glen Johnson too could beat him @ 168. Qawi , Spinks, Charles, Tarver and Glen Johnson @ 175. Maybe even Bob Foster, and I think lowly of Foster.

Yeah...mid 30s. Same age Jones was getting plastered by Tarver and Johnson. So I don't see the point of your speed comparision, we have no reliable footage of Moore in his youth.

Moore did appear to peak as an overall fighter in his late 30s but we don't have the footage to compare him physically to Jones in a fair way. In their 30s as LHW/HWs, they appear to be comparable in hand speed.

I really don't see any similarities to Moore and Jones in style. Marshall and Jones strike me as more similar.

I disagree. LHW is too deep with talent. Your comments about Langford and Bivins are....cute.

The Jones who beat Woods, Ruiz, Tarver from the age of 33 to 35 is much faster than any footage of Moore although he had slowed by that stage. Even when past it against Lacy and Trinidad Jones is arguably quicker than the fastest footage of Moore. He stopped having the stamina to pull the trigger often and you can see him gasp for air at times but he was still very very quick.

If you're a fan though I'm sure there's 40s footage out there of Moore.

No..can't agree. Especially the Ruiz and Tarver fights.

right hand at 46 seconds...very comparable with Jones single punch speed in those fights. Moore is 37 here.

51 is earliest I've found when he was likely 35. Bivins and Davidson fights.

It doesn't really matter about his handspeed at 35 though does it? At that age he didn't have the footwork to protect that glass chin, as Tarver and Johnson proved.

All 3 by the way were born within a few weeks of each other.

    1969-01-16 Jones Jr

    1968-11-21 Tarver

    1969-01-02 Johnson

It does make me laugh when Jones fans claim on the one hand he spent his pre Ruiz fight virtually untouched but due to bulking up by 8 - 10 pounds then losing it over a 14 month period and becoming 35 he suddenly became vulnerable which is why he got KTFO.

It wouldn't be so bad if the guys who sparked him were in their mid twenties, but there is 14 days between one of them, and 24 days between him and the other one.

Which one of them dominated the sport for the previous 10 years?
