If he beats more big name fighters like Chavez jr., Pirok, and Golovkin and become the Undisputed World MW Champion then I'll rank him in the top 20.

If people say Chavez ain't **** what does that make Pirog and GGG who have a far worst resume than Jr.?

Sturm might be a good name on his resume but I doubt Sergio and Sturm will ever fight.

I don't think Martinez cracks the top 30 best MW based on his resume. And even then the MW division of today is weak compared to other eras. And I'm a Martinez fan but not blind.

I love Sergio. He's one of my favorite fighters but he's not even close. That division is historically stacked. Hagler, Monzon, Greb, Robinson, Hopkins, Steele, Fullmer, Tiger, Griffith, Ketchel, it's a monster list of fighters with awesome reigns and/or resumes. He's have to literally go knocking off Golovkin, Sturm, Pirog and Proksa after knocking off Junior just to have a chance of being being mentioned in the top twenty without getting laughed at. He's a good champion and an amazing fighter in the last few years but one of the greatest of one of the best divisions-no.

I like the guy and H2H he stacks up well but he needs some more defining fights at MW. He needs to beat Chavez impressively. He needs to fight a few more good MWs and maybe even move up to SMW in a super fight vs. somebody like Ward or Froch.

He doesn't rank. In some era's he would struggle to crack the top ten. Hopkins is 90 and would still slap his ass around. It's not that he is a poor fighter but he is old, late to the top, has a thin resume(compared to historical fighters), is unlikely to have many career defining fights do to the weak division, and has a style in which its easy to see him being knocked off.

He already is the undisputed MW champion. There exists no room to argue this point.
