Where does Srisaket Sor Rungvisai rank among the great Super Flyweights? His prime wasn’t long and his reign was short, but he took 2 huge names, beating atg Roman Gonzalez and world class Juan Francisco Estrada, then he had a few obscure defences and then lost in a rematch against Estrada due to poor tactics, which I always believe he would’ve won had he fought southpaw, at that point he was 32 and had to get get the big fights soon, he needed the immediate rematch, but for some reason faded into obscurity for 3 years, I believe he had fights left at that point, but he didn’t get them, then when he was 35, old and shopworn, he fought Jesse Rodriguez and the timing wasn’t there, he was beaten to the punch, his feet looked slow, and overall just looked old Where does Srisaket Sor Rungvisai rank in your estimations?
I really like the guy but unless he has a late career resurgence coming I don't think hes a hall of famer. He has 2 wins over a hall of famer in Choco but I don't know if that and the Estrada win will quite do it. I think he and cuadras should rematch at bantamweight with the winner trying a run at that division and the loser retiring.
Deceptively fast for a fighter of his mold. He had a style predicated on quick pivots and angle changes. There aren't a lot of greats in his weight division, but those he shares an era with outrank him, in my opinion.
2 wins over an ATG and a future HOFer is already more than enough to put him in the HOF. So many fighters are put in the IBHOF that have no career defining wins at all. Khaosai Galaxy is considered one of the great 115 pound fighters yet he doesn't have the wins close to the class as Choco or Gallo.
Man that Covid Break & the lack of Matchmaking at that time screwed him along with many other Fighter's at that time, Being that he resided in Thailand possibly unable him to get more better help sooner regarding his Training, Strength Conditioning, even employing another trainer if needed, His Career would been completely different to where he is currently, though that can be said about many fighter's hailing from improvised countries, Even with all that he still accomplished allot & when he had the opportunity to take his ball home and instead fight lower opposition after becoming world champion he did the opposite & continued to take on the best & has nothing to be ashamed off, the fact that he stays humble regardless of victory or loss really says allot about him.
If he continues to fight, he had better get a stationary dance partner who will be there for him or you'll get a replay of his last fight. Personally I think he's probably done at the top level and I'd hate to see him as a gatekeeper.
Future hall of Famer. With 3 wins over pound for pound guys in his division in their prime. 2 over Choclatito (1 -KTFO) 1 over Estrada that’s good enough for boxing HoF by the sports criteria / precedent
He's gonna be in the IBHOF eventually and he'll be recognized as one of Thailand's best boxers alongside Galaxy.
