Who would they fight next? Degale v Magee is a good fight to be made imho. It would be interesting to see Degale/Magee & Groves/Anderson II. That's if it worked out that way of course. Thoughts?
The winner should get a shot at a decent European fighter, or maybe a world title challenger like Jesse Brinkly (the guy who Bute stopped not too long ago). What I was thinking earlier tho, is who would a defeat hurt most. Personally I think Degale would let it get to him more, and some of his arrogance would defiantly diminish, maybe like Naz after MAB. I think groves would bounce back faster from a defeat than Degale would.
Jesse Brinkey is not a bad shout for De Gale. Although Brinkey lost to Bute, he did a number on Curtis Stevens, so it would make for an interesting fight, Brinkley is not that good, but he's good enough to make it competitive.
Simply put the winner will move on to better and more important things, fighting world title challengers and faded former world champions until the adequate amount of experience and skill level has been completed. Unfortunately the loser ill have to rebuild himself, possibly very slowly and pad his record as to not risk losing for a second time and put their bxng career on a shake and become unmarketable like so many past champions.
It depends on the nature of the defeat. If its a blowout loss(cant see it)its back to the drawing board and some confidence building fights.
It is so early in their respective careers and it's not any sort of eliminator. So I can't see it being too bad for either. Obviously one will have to rebuild a bit, but this fight is about bragging rights mainly
