I know he'll never venture up there again but when watching the Cotto-Margarito fight, i was just thinking jeez, what would have happened if hatton chose to fight Margarito instead of Collazo a few years back. The mayweather fight would never have come off. Poor Ricky

I was fooled by the Cotto hype but now think Hatton would have done the same thing.

I'm not one these people who are jumping in saying Cotto was 'exposed' or is chinny but I've always thought its obvious the way to beat Cotto was to stop him fighting at his own pace, he's never looked comfortable when pressured. Thats what Margo managed to do and I think Hatton would have stood an excellent chance of doing the same thing at 140 a couple of years ago.

do you reckon that hatton will simply get past malinaggi, fight pacman, then ride off into the sun, or do you think he'll ever consider fighting guys like bradley n kotelnik for their belts?

I can't see Hatton bothering with either Bradley or Kotelnik, he's at the stage where he can pick 'names' and not worry whether belts are involved.

EDIT: Yes at 140....is that OK?

Ricky would have DIED against Margarito. Seriously, with Ricky's style - his life may well have been in danger.
