Id say Bellew cracks the Top 30 at best. Ive tried to keep it post war. This isnt in order of who i think is the best British boxers by numbers, this is just who i think would be above Tony Bellew based on what they have managed to do in the sport.

    I base success in boxing not by how much money they made, but by the following;
    • Did they become a World Champion?
    • How many defences they made
    • Multi weight World Champion?
    • Did they unify World Titles
    • Reputation
Tony Bellews Bracket for me would be between 26-30th if i was to lay them all out in order of the most successful British Boxers of all time, i think i could certainly name 26 from the names below. I think Bellew has achieved around the level of somebody like Frank Bruno did in the Sport but more than other British World Champions like Liam Smith, Lee Haskins, although they did manage to defend their belts, they will never have reached the height of Bellew reputation wise.

Now, if Bellew was to beat Tyson Fury and retire, he would certainly shoot to the Top 15. If Bellew was to beat Wilder and become a two weight World Champion i think he would certainly shoot to the top 15. If he was to beat Usyk and hold 4 major belts at Cruiserweight, id say that puts him top 10 and goes down as our Greatest Cruiserweight of All Time even with 0 defences.

If Bellew Defeated Fury in a stadium fight, TKOd Wilder to become a 2 weight world champion and then dropped back down and defeated Usyk, i think you would be talking about Top 5 but that is a very unlikely scenario.

For now, winning a Vacant Cruiserweight belt, falling short in a LHW Title bout, and 2 wins over a very inactive British Icon and Former Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion, he certainly makes the Top 30 based off that, not bad for a fat lad from Liverpool.

if bellew is in the top 100, it is a poor boxing country. at his best he has never even been top five in any division he has boxed.

If you read what i wrote, this WASNT in a particular order this was just naming names who would most likely make my Top 30, and if you would of read properly then you would also know this list was as POST WAR as possible, so stick your PRE WAR fighters up your backside and suck my nuts.

Haye held the WBO WBA WBC belts, the other Champion at the time was Steve Cunningham, Haye was the Undisputed Champion in my eyes.

Yeah i was meant to write about Nelson in the last post, that is one id class that would certainly make my list, slipped my mind & id have 90% of who i posted below, ahead of Minter. Ive tried to keep my list as recent as possible with a few exceptions. To be a All Time Great for your Nation you have to be one of the best of your ERAs thats why ive tried to base it more relevant too Bellews ERA

Collins is an interesting mention, becuase I think Bellew's wins over Haye are very similar to Collins' wins over Benn. The first fight ending prematurely due to a leg injury with no clear winner, the second fight having a clear winner but exposing the defeated fighter as shot with no business being in the ring anymore.

We need to wait and see his next fight to see what he has.......................Haye is done for, so he doesn't count, Bellew needs to fight Fury next, even in Fury's first fight back! Or he could fight Povetkin, who would knock him out, Joshua would knock him out.........................he needs to fight a live body..................not a cripple who is over the hill.................

I glossed your list and you’ve pretty much nailed it, can’t see any glaring omissions. On wins alone Bellew is defo top 30. It’s a remarkable turnaround after his KO loss to Stevenson at LHW. In fact who could have predicted Bellew to achieve what he has after losing to Cleverly and Stevenson? It’s a major lesson to all the moronic boxers killing themselves to fight at weight classes. John Ryder is another example.

Gut instinct would have him around the same level as Tony Sibson. Both had respectable wins at world level, built part of their rep on superior but faded fighters, but were brutally exposed at the highest level. Sibson's comp was better, but he also lost more often.

May get chance to do a list later, but I'd expect there to be around half a dozen fighters each decade that I'd rank above Bellew. It would be probably be a struggle to get him in the post-war top 50.

It wasn't my choice to include him in the thread. Address that point to the OP. I merely commented on how his fights with Benn were similar to Bellew's fight with Haye.

Yes. Yes he is. I didn't say he was British. I wasn't the one who wrote the list. Take it up with the OP not me.
