I am sure he does and will still pick him over Joshua. Styles make fights and Joshua is well built to take Wilder's power in the worst way possible.

He's been working very hard with his new trainer Malik Scott, working on head movement, being elusive, punching in combinations, body punches.

It took an Ass beating for self reflection

Hope this is true, he really needs to get in the ring soon.

He needs more than Malik Scott too, the discount trainer makes me think this is more about a couple paydays to pad the retirement account.

Wilder needs to be back in the ring. Doesn't matter against who.

What do you think that the likelihood is for him to make major technical corrections in this short while of training. More importantly, what's the likelihood of him actually utilizing them and not falling back into bad habits? It could be difficult to not fall back into the bad habits, wouldn't you think?

Agreed, it's a cliche' because it's true , you can't teach an old dog new tricks. As soon as the punches start flying he'll be what he is.

Fury dished out a career-ending beating to Wilder and took Wilder's soul, but Wilder doesn't want to admit that Fury destroyed him fair and square. Hence Wilder's apparent need to save face with the whole "I only lost because the 40lb outfit I walked to the ring in was too heavy for me and made my legs weak" excuse.

Might as well climb in there with Scuba Scott again while he's at it.

Mentally he really did take it from Wilder but time heals and a part of me is wondering if he could capture the fire and drive to improve his boxing. He's never going to be a master of the sweet science but with his power and a good trainer he could still improve somewhat. However if he faced Fury again I wonder if he would be able to keep a level head. Going to be interesting to see but he could walk away from the sport if he chose with the money he made.

Funny thing is, despite being ruined by Fury, I still think Wilder could get it done against Joshua. He'd only need to land one huge right hand bomb on Joshua, who isn't exactly the most durable of Heavyweights.

But if Joshua and Wilder fought, Joshua would likely be on his bike for the entire fight like he was in the rematch with Ruiz, so it would be up to Wilder to figure out how to get into position and draw the mistakes from Joshua in order to land that big shot.
