Where would you place Wladimir Klitschko among ATG heavyweights?

By the time he retires he will be a clear top 15, wlads style and domination is the type thats hated when active but respected highly when retired, kind of like with holmes.

Top 20 I guess. But he isn't done yet. 6 or 7 more wins and becoming The Unified Undisputed HW Champ will get him higher.

    Top 20 somewhere.

There isn't much justification for a ranking higher than that. A fighter who hasn't fought a single great in his entire career and yet has 3 losses? It doesn't warrant anything like a top 10 ranking.

I think I'd have to have him in my top 20 at least. He's beaten the guys there are out there and, even if you can quibble about quality of opposition or even his clear best opponent being someone that he'd never fight, he'd kept knocking them over for years now.

He's broken the top 20 list of quite a few hardcore ****ers that have no love for him on Classic. I believe I'm comfortable with 16-20 for him.

This is true, I'd say. I didn't appreciate Lennox fully until he was gone for a bit, and I feel like I'm in the majority with that. I was always big on Holmes, but rating him got better with age too. I rank Holmes quite a bit higher than most, it seems.

The problem is though, he has three losses against poor opposition. You have a guy who has never beaten a single great fighter, or even a very good one, and yet has lost three times, not to mention been knocked down three times by Sam Peter, losing rounds to average fighters and so on.

If Wlad was entirely dominant throughout his entire career, you could make that argument. However, he hasn't been. He's a guy who has beaten no great fighters and has lost to three average opponents.

    :deal

longevity counts for a lot. but on its own, its not enough to have someone in the top 10.

When Tyson fought poor opposition, he absolutely destroyed them. Wlad has 3 losses against poor opposition. not good enough

Wlad wasn't in his prime when those losses happened. Even before those losses, people were saying Wlad's defense had serious flaws. He corrected those flaws by 2006.

    His prime is 2006-present.

No, I wouldn't say "green". He dominated many decent fighters like prime Barrett, prime Byrd, and prime McCline during that time.

But he didn't reach his BEST until he corrected some flaws in his defense. Since then he's been virtually unbeatable.

coincidently, his improvements began to show once he started fighting **** poor opposition (through no fault of his own)
