Where does Wladimir Klitschko rank among ATG HWs?

Just trying to interject some reason into the conversation.

 

I think you're reading too much into the actual placement of the men on that list, rather than looking at his initial points which he expounded upon. Like it or not modern big men like Wlad, Vitali and Lewis have an advantage that might make them favorites in some cross era fantasy fights, and to some extent I agree... Rocky Marciano for example, is a man who a rate head over heals above those guys from a legacy standpoint, but when placing him in the ring with them, I don't think I'd favor him to win against any of them.... Make of it what you will...

 

Neither my post nor Perill's were driven by biased or "nuthugging".. In fact, I'm not even a big fan of the Klits, and from the sound of things, neither is Peril.. In fact, he spoke respectfully of the men who preceded the Klitschko's, but doesn't necessarily favor all of them to beat them.

 

This is a grossly over simplified post. I could just as easily do the same by saying that Leon Spinks won the olympic gold medal, beat Muhammad Ali, then worked his way back into contention to challenge a peak Holmes for the title, and use it to bolster a case why he'd be great in head to head fights... Why doesn't this work? because it doesn't tell the whole story.

 

Find me one person on this site saying Leon Spinks is the best heavyweight ever. Or even top 20. I'll wait.

Size *isn't* everything. If it were, Shaquelle O'Neal would be a serious threat to the Klitschko sisters.

And what point have you proven? You make this claims that today's heavies are faster, stronger and "better athletes" yet have no evidence of this.

Are you going to tell me that Quitali or Glass Jaw Wlad is faster than Tyson? Faster than Ali? Do any of today's heavies have a left hook like Frazier? Could Glass Jaw Wlad last 15 rounds, when he has gassed after 6 before?

 

Did he punch himself out in the Purrity and Sanders fights too?

Please stop with the SAD excuses. Being punched out isn't why Wlad lost to Brewster. He lost because he got punched ON.

Wlad has admitted he has a Glass Jaw and Vitali is a proven quitter so the terms used are legitimate.
